|This article is about a/an villain in Kousoku Sentai Turboranger.|
Yamimaru (ヤミマル?) is a Wandering Boma of the Hundred Boma Tribes in Kousoku Sentai Turboranger. With Boma power but a human appearance, he finds himself not fitting in with either civilizations, holding a grudge against both.
Yamimaru was born of a human and Boma parent, but lived during the period of the Boma living and fighting humanity 20,000 years in the past. He found himself as an outcast to both and could never fit in with either: when he tried to appear to humans, they attacked him as a monster and an intruder; likewise when he tried to join with the Boma, he was attacked by Zulten and an army of Wular for his humanoid appearance. This hatred by both humans and Boma made Yamimaru resent and hate both sides; however he was still able to escape from the final outcome of the Boma's war, where the humans and fairies sealed away all other Boma except for the Wandering Boma who were able to escape such as himself.
In modern times, he assumed the guise of Hikaru Nagareboshi (流星光 Nagareboshi Hikaru?) and appeared to transfer into to the same school as the Turborangers. While appearing to impress those around him, he likewise began to attack the Turborangers but does so separately from the Boma, believing both as his enemy and that the Wandering Boma are the ones who should rule over both. During their initial battles, he crushed the Turborangers and their attacks, forcing them to upgrade their abilities in order to even approach him. Likewise during their initial encounters, Riki Honoo (Red Turbo) eventually realized that Yamimaru was Nagareboshi and thus tried to both fight and reason with him in trying to appreciate his humanity instead of attacking humans; but Yamimaru would not listen and only cared about his pursuit and in spoiling both the Turborangers and Boma's battle. Further complicating matters were those who did see Yamimaru as merely human and that he should be treated as such and thus embrace the good of the human race and their morals and concepts, such as his high school teacher Ms. Yamaguchi.. -
Simultaneous to Great Boma Emperor Lagorn deciding to force all of the Boma generals to prove themselves or die trying for the Empire, Yamimaru has a mysterious dream where a girl in red tells him that his time is ultimately coming. Inspired by the dream, the Wandering Boma intervenes multiple times in order to make sure that Lagorn's generals fell, manipulating the battle against Dark Boma Zimba to his own advantage and at one point abducting Dr. Dazai in hopes of preventing the Turborangers from fixing their arsenal trashed during this crucial period. However once the Rangers defeated Lagorn's generals, Yamimaru further believed in the prophetic words, and is later surprised when he meets the mystery girl as Musashino student Sayoko Tsukikage, whose Boma powers were merely starting to awaken. With his support, Sayoko embraced her destiny binding her and Nagareboshi and became Kirika, likewise giving Yamimaru an upgrade and a new red armor appearance. Their taming of the giant Boma bat Dragras likewise made them indispensable to Lagorn and allowed for him to work for his enemy, but with regrets in him that even the Boma Emperor had to eventually fall for all he had done. -
Finally tiring of Lagorn's continuous torment and lack of trust in the Wandering Boma, Yamimaru and Kirika set up the Boma leader's fall by forcing him to fight Red Turbo one-on-one. When the Turborangers are victorious in defeating him, the Wandering Boma set themselves up as the new Boma leaders, seeing their new mission as to use their new ruling position within the Boma to conquer humanity.Kirika's father, who makes the claim that the true destiny of Wandering Boma is to live like normal humans without power. After regaining their powers and Kirika ultimately abandoning him to believe in her father's words, Yamimaru decides to return to fighting alone, continuing to hold his hatred for both humans and Boma. -However, the rule is troubled by a lack of trust by other Boma in the new leaders, futher with a mysterious spoiling Boma power that kept getting in the way of Yamimaru's plans, ultimately revealed to be Lagorn still alive but transformed into his new "Neo-Lagorn" form. Once returned, Lagorn punishes Yamimaru and Kirika alongside the Turborangers by sealing their powers away; this matter is made worse with the return of
Seeing the continued hatred within Yamimaru as foolish in the face of his destiny as a Wandering Boma, Riki confronts him for the sake of Kirika in order to make him see the light about what he must do for himself. The Wandering Boma and Red Turbo hold a final showdown which Riki ultimately wins, but Yamimaru remains held on to his hatred regarding his true path. However with Neo-Lagorn preparing to destroy Earth for his own name, he does decide to at least help the Turborangers deal with the Boma leader, attacking him alongside them in Boma Castle to defeat the main source of his troubles. But still sorrowed by everything he had done and still seeing himself without a place to go, Yamimaru prepares to sacrifice himself to destroy Boma Castle to prevent the Great Seal from being opened, against the pleas of all those who care about him. With the final confirmation from Kirika that the two can live together in a world where they can be together without need to fight and without anyone but each other, Yamimaru finally escapes from Boma Castle as the Tuborangers destroy it. He says goodbye to the Turborangers on good terms, deciding to return to being Hikaru Nagareboshi and to live out his life with Sayoko Tsukikage, finally realizing that Boma and humans can actually live together in peace.
