As a fan of Gokaiger, I often wonder what other types of team Gokai Changes might have worked, or been used, if the series were prolonged or used a wider variety of Gokai Changes.

NOTE: These are my own creations - these Gokai Changes did NOT occur in the show, films, or stage shows to the best of my knowledge and as such are UNOFFICIAL. As this is a constant work-in-progress, it is a Sandbox page and not a blog post. Do feel free to help fill in gaps or leave comments on the talk page if you have any ideas or suggestions.

Rules for Gokai Changes

1. Whenever possible, use the Gokaigers' counterparts.
2. If a counterpart doesn't make sense, or prevents another from making sense, then go by what keys they used in the show (such as Joe using TigerRanger's key in ep. 44)
3. Don't use any custom keys or non-show keys (sorry, no Kamen Rider OOO or Go-Busters here)
4. Don't use Go-On Gold or Go-On Silver in the same change as the Go-On Wings hybrid (since it combines their keys). Same for Gokai Christmas with Gokai Red/Gokai Green.
5. Please include a statement below each change to describe what it is, or the theme used (i.e. This change utilizes all white rangers on the main team.)
6. Have fun! Let's see what we can come up with!

Actors' Favorites Gokai Change

- Each Gokaiger actor, upon taking their role, mentioned a Ranger or team they particularly wanted to become.

Actors' Birthdays Gokai Change

- This change relates to the Gokaiger actor's date of birth.

Hero-to-Villain Actor Gokai Change

- This change uses Rangers whose actor ended up on the other side of the battle at one point, playing a major Sentai villain alongside their hero role.

Shurikenger Actor Gokai Change #1

- In Hurricaneger, the ninja Shurikenger took on many aliases played by past Sentai actors, similar to the Ranger Legend cameos. This is the first of two changes portraying all of his aliases, with Gai as Shurikenger himself.

Shurikenger Actor Gokai Change #2

- The second of two Gokai Changes based on the aliases of Shurikenger; once again, Gai plays the ninja himself while the rest of the team as the Sentai aliases of the actors portraying him.

Shinken Red Actor Gokai Change

- This change uses Rangers whose actor portrayed a Shinken Red at some point in the Shinkenger series.

Seaick Tribe Actor Gokai Change

- This change uses Rangers whose actor portrayed a member of the Seaick Tribe from the Goseiger series.

Gokaiger/Goseiger Suit Actor Gokai Change

- Unlike the usual Goseiger change, where the Gokaigers become their Goseiger counterparts, they become the Goseiger their suit actor served as, since the suit actors of the first five Gokaigers were previously the suit actors of the Goseigers. Gokai Silver (Daisuke Satō) is an anomaly as Gosei Knight had a different suit actor, Jiro Okamoto.

199 Hero Tomokazu Seki past warriors Gokai Change

- This change features the three past warriors who were voiced by Tomokazu Seki in place of their original actors in the Legend War scene in Gokaiger Goseiger Super Sentai 199 Hero Great Battle.

Super Hero Taisen voice actor Gokai Change

- This change features rangers who had their voices supplied by Gokaiger actors in place of their original actors in Kamen Rider × Super Sentai: Super Hero Taisen.

Back Dimension Dimensian Warriors actor Gokai Change

- This change features the heroes whose actors play the Back Dimension Dimensian Warriors in episodes 23 and 24 of Choujin Sentai Jetman.

Mutant Girls Squad Gokai Change

- This change features the two heroines whose actors (Suzuka Morita and Yumi Sugimoto) appeared as main characters in the movie Mutant Girls Squad.

D-Boys Gokai Change

- This change features Sentai Warriors whose actor is a member of the D-Boys, a group that is under the management of Watanabe Entertainment

Age

All-Oldies Gokai Change

- This team takes the First Generation team one step further with Gai, as KingRanger was around a long time before any modern Sentai team.

All-Oldest Gokai Change

- All members are the oldest on their team, either being the oldest sibling or the notably oldest of their team.

All-Oldest Teams Gokai Change

- This team goes a step further with the "oldest teams" in regards to those who have been fighting in the past in chronological order; with KingRanger (the oldest known hero) and heroes from the five teams in order of their age and activity. (The most recent of these oldest being 1000 years in the past, even before teams like the Shinkenger who fought 300 years in the past and way prior to the arrival of the Gorenger in 1975)

All Temporal-Oldest Gokai Change

- This team is all of members who are temporally older than the rest of their teammates, either due to emerging from the past or, in the case of the Timeranger duo, being from a temporal period before the majority of the team. This team includes no Zyuranger since all six members are from the ancient past, thus have no temporal differences.

All-Youngest Gokai Change

- All members are the youngest on their team, either being youngest siblings (FiveBlack and Yellow are twins) or the notably youngest of their team.

Alternate Team Formations

- These changes involve the Gokaigers changing into a different Ranger of one of their counterpart's team, usually either to match their gender or personality.

Alternate J.A.K.Q. Gokai Change

- This J.A.K.Q. team has Marvelous becoming the Ranger that took his counterpart's place as leader while Gai uses Spade Ace in his place not only so that the genders of all of the Rangers match, but also due to the fact that J.A.K.Q. did not have a Yellow Ranger. This works because Marvelous used Big One in Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger vs. Uchuu Keiji Gavan: The Movie.

Alternate Battle Fever Gokai Change

- This Battle Fever team has Gai using Battle Cossack instead of Luka not only so that the genders of all of the Rangers match, but also due to the fact that Battle Fever did not have a Yellow Ranger.

Alternate Sun Vulcan Gokai Change

- This Sun Vulcan team has Don using VulPanther instead of Luka so that the genders of all the Rangers match.

Alternate Goggle V Gokai Change

- This formation has Luka using Bouken Yellow while Gai uses GoggleYellow in her place not only so the genders of all the Rangers match, but also due to the fact that both Yellow Rangers possess the power of Lemuria (GoggleYellow through his opal gem and Bouken Yellow due to the power within her own body being a Lemurian by birth).

Alternate Goggle V Gokai Change #2

- This formation has Gai joining the other Gokaigers as Goggle V by using KingRanger, who likewise uses an ancient power as a power source (the Super Power of Pangaea).

Alternate Dynaman Gokai Change

- This formation has Gai joining the other Gokaiger as Dynaman by using Shurikenger, who also possesses a baseball motif with his appearance and abilities.

Alternate Changeman Gokai Change

- This Changeman team matches up the Gokaigers with their Changeman counterpart according to personality.

Alternate Changeman Gokai Change #2

- This formation allows Gai to join the other Gokaigers as Changemen by using KirinRanger, a Ranger who is not represented in the Changeman by color or creature, but with a similarity of Western mythological creatures from Changeman with Eastern mythological creatures from Dairanger. This works because Gai used KirinRanger in episode 44.

Alternate Flashman Gokai Change

- This Flashman team matches up the Gokaigers with their Flashman counterpart according to personality.

Alternate Maskman Gokai Change

- This formation has Gai joining the other Gokaigers as Maskmen by using his counterpart from another martial arts-based team (Dairanger).

Alternate Liveman Gokai Change

- This Liveman team has Joe and Luka switching counterparts and Gai using Black Bison instead of Ahim not only so that the genders of all of the Rangers match, but also due to the fact that Liveman did not have a Pink Ranger. This works because Luka used Blue Dolphin in episode 45.

Alternate Turboranger Gokai Change

- This formation has Gai joining the other Gokaigers as Turborangers by using an Extra Hero from another vehicle-based Sentai team (Carranger).

Alternate Turboranger Gokai Change #2

- This formation has Gai utilizing the TimeFire key due to the characters involved connection with actor Fujita Okamoto, who portrayed Dr. Dazai (mentor of the Turboranger) and Wataru Asami (founder of the City Guardians in Timeranger which included Naoto Takizawa)

Alternate Fiveman Gokai Change

- This formation allows Gai to join the other Gokaigers as Fivemen by using MagiShine, who connects with the team in two ways: he's from another sibling-based Sentai team (Magiranger) and is a teacher like the Fiveman.

Alternate Fiveman Gokai Change #2

- This formation includes another Sentai hero who has "five" in their name, Pink5 of Bioman. Luka utilizes this key to allow for Gai to use the FiveYellow key, due to Yellow Rangers having the ability of being either male or female.

Alternate Jetman Gokai Change

- This Jetman team has Joe, Luka, and Don switching counterparts so that the genders and personalities of all the Rangers match.

Alternate Jetman Gokai Change #2

- This formation has Gai joining the other Gokaigers as Jetmen by using his own bird-themed counterpart from another Sentai team (Go-Onger).

Alternate Kakuranger Gokai Change

- This formation has Gai joining the other Gokaigers as Kakurangers by using his counterpart from another ninja-based team (Hurricaneger).

Alternate Carranger Gokai Change

- This Carranger team allows for the usage of the Signalman key; since Don is the only one who used the key, he utilizes it in this case with Gai taking his position as Green Racer.

Alternate Megaranger Gokai Change

- This Megaranger team has Marvelous and Don switching counterparts so that the former can become the true leader.

Alternate GoGo-V Gokai Change

- This formation has Gai joining the other Gokaigers as GoGo-V by using RyuuRanger, whose actor (Keiichi Wada) portrayed Beast-Demon Hunter Sieg in Kyukyu Sentai GoGo-V the Movie: Sudden Shock! A New Warrior.

Alternate Hurricaneger Gokai Change

- This Hurricaneger team matches up the Gokaigers with their Hurricaneger counterpart according to personality, as well as provide less gender changing. This works because Don used HurricaneYellow in episode 44.

Alternate Hurricaneger Gokai Change #2

- This Hurricaneger team features the Hayate Way and Ikazuchi Way Ninja Academy Rangers prior to Shurikenger's debut. It has Joe, Luka and Don switching counterparts, while Gai uses KuwagaRaiger instead of Ahim not only so the genders and personalities of all the Rangers match, but also due to the fact that Hurricaneger did not have a Pink Ranger. This works because Don used HurricaneYellow in episode 44.

Alternate Gouraiger Gokai Change

- While Don and Ahim are the Gouraigers' counterparts, Marvelous and Joe are more fitting as they are both male, their colors match, and they have a strong bond like brothers.

Alternate Abaranger Gokai Change

- This Abaranger team has Ahim using AbareKiller instead of Gai so that she can become an official Abaranger and join the other main Gokaigers. This works because Ahim used AbareKiller in episode 17 before Gai officially joined the team. It also works because Gai is usually excluded from Sentai teams with exactly 5 members.

Alternate Abaranger Gokai Change #2

- This formation allows Ahim to fight using a "pseudo-Abaranger" in lieu of the AbarePink suit by having her use AbareKiller's key, while Gai uses a key from another dinosaur-based team (Zyuranger) which happens to be his counterpart there. This works because Ahim used AbareKiller in episode 17 before Gai officially joined the team.

Alternate Abaranger Gokai Change #3

- This formation allows Ahim to fight alongside the other Gokaigers as Abarangers by using her counterpart from another dinosaur-based team (Zyuranger) instead of the unofficial AbarePink suit.

Alternate Dekaranger Gokai Change

- This Dekaranger team is of the main six Dekaranger of Earth prior to Tetsu being brought in. In this case, Gai is DekaRed due to having been the only non-TimeFire Red he had become in episode 48, allowing for Marvelous to become the true leader, DekaMaster.

Alternate Magiranger Gokai Change

- This Magiranger team has Joe and Luka switching counterparts so that the genders of all the Rangers match.

Alternate Magiranger Gokai Change #2

- This Magiranger team is of the initial six Magiranger as established in Stage 1, with MagiMother alongside her children. Luka had transformed into MagiMother in episode 44, thus making her the natural choice to becoming her and thus giving MagiYellow to Gai.

Alternate Boukenger Gokai Change

- This Boukenger team matches up the Gokaigers with their Boukenger counterpart according to personality. This works because Luka used Bouken Pink in Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger vs. Uchuu Keiji Gavan: The Movie.

Alternate Gekiranger Gokai Change

- This Gekiranger team has Gai using GekiViolet instead of Don due to the fact that Gekiranger did not technically have a Green Ranger (not counting Mele as she is a Bangai Hero).

Alternate Gekiranger Gokai Change #2

- This Gekiranger team features the RinJyuKen Warriors alongside the Gekirangers prior to GekiChopper's debut. This works because Ahim used Mele in episode 42.

Alternate RinJyuKen Warriors Gokai Change

- Don and Ahim may have used their keys in episode 42, but Marvelous and Luka are more fitting as they have the same anti-hero personalities.

Alternate Go-Onger Gokai Change

- This Go-Onger team has Gai using Go-On Black instead of Ahim not only so that the genders of all of the Rangers match, but also due to the fact that Go-Onger did not have a Pink Ranger.

Alternate Go-Onger Gokai Change #2

- Similar to the Geki-Rin change from episode 42, this Go-Onger team has Don and Ahim changing into the Go-On Wings instead of their normal counterparts. This works because Ahim used Go-On Silver in episodes 18 and 41.

Alternate Go-Onger Gokai Change #3

Alternate Go-Onger Gokai Change #4

Alternate Go-On Wings Gokai Change

- Ahim and Gai may have used their keys in episode 41, but Joe and Luka are more fitting as they have the same anti-hero personalities.

Alternate Shinkenger Gokai Change

- This Shinkenger team matches up the Gokaigers with their Shinkenger counterpart according to personality.

Alternate Shinkenger Gokai Change #2

- This Shinkenger team utilizes the 6 Shinkengers that are actually considered Samurai. Although Takeru was a kagemusha, he was trained in the ways of the Samurai to take Kaoru Shiba's place. Since a female must use the Princess' key, Gai becomes a male version of Shinken Yellow so that Luka (who mostly used Kaoru's key) could use it here (and there are many male Yellows in Super Sentai history versus no Pinks).

Alternate Shinkenger Gokai Change #3

- Similar to the previous, this Shinkenger team is the one during Takeru's period where he is not on the team and working as a free-lance, with Kaoru working with the other five. This is most notable in Act 48, when the six fight the revived Dokoku together while Takeru is fighting without transforming. In this case, Marvelous is the male Shinken Yellow as Gai retakes his Shinken Gold position and Luka remains as Princess Shinken Red.

Animals

All-Bear Gokai Change

All-Bird Gokai Change

All-Bird Gokai Change #2

- A variation on the bird theme using all Red heroes.

All-Bovinae Gokai Change

All-Condor Gokai Change

All-Common Dinosaurs Gokai Change

- This change features the dinosaur-themed Rangers whose dinosaurs are present in both Zyuranger and Abaranger. In this case, two of each Tyrannosaurus, Triceratops and Pteranodon-themed Rangers.

All-Uncommon Dinosaurs Gokai Change

- This change features the dinosaur-themed Rangers whose dinosaurs are only present in either Zyuranger or Abaranger. Even though the Brachiosaurus appears in both series, only AbareBlack is themed after this dinosaur, making him eligible for inclusion here.

All-Dolphin Gokai Change

- Even though Blue Dolphin and HurricaneBlue are Joe's counterparts, Luka and Ahim use his keys in this change due to both Rangers originally being female.

All-Dragon Gokai Change

All-Eagle Gokai Change

All-Falcon Gokai Change

All-Hawk Gokai Change

All-Marine Life Gokai Change

All-Mermaid Gokai Change

- Even though MagiBlue is Joe's counterpart, Ahim uses his key in this change because mermaids are generally female creatures.

All-Pegasus Gokai Change

- Red Racer is included because, despite not being based on a pegasus, it is his constellation.

All-Phoenix Gokai Change

All-Primate Gokai Change

All-Rhino Gokai Change

All-Shark Gokai Change

All-Swan Gokai Change

All-Tiger Gokai Change

- Similar to the all-lion change, this uses tigers.

All-Triceratops Gokai Change

- Similar to the all-Pteranodon change from Final Ep.: Farewell Space Pirates, but with Triceratops.

All-Tyrannosaurus Gokai Change

- Similar to the all-Pteranodon change from Final Ep.: Farewell Space Pirates, but with Tyrannosaurus. TimeFire is included because, despite not being based on a Tyrannosaurus, his mecha is modeled after one.

All-Wolf/Canine Gokai Change

It also features Go-On Silver, whose key Ahim used on its own two times, while Gai never used Go-On Silver's key on its own (he only used the hybrid key or Go-On Gold key). Ironically, Gai doesn't take part in this change either.

All-Red 199 Gokai Change

- This change is of all the Reds associated with the Greater Powers of Gokaiger Goseiger Super Sentai 199 Hero Great Battle who did not appear (thus no Akarenger, Red1, Red Turbo, RyuuRanger, Bouken Red or Gosei Red); this does not discount Sosuke Esumi appearing in-series, merely that the Greater Power was given by his teammate Saki Rouyama (Go-On Yellow).

All-Red Basco-jacked Gokai Change

- This change is an all-Red version of the Gokai Change of the teams whose Greater Powers were initially stolen by Basco ta Jolokia seen in Ep. 49: The Greatest Treasure in the Universe. All-White Male Main Team Gokai Change

All-White Male 5th Gokai Change

- This change is similar to the previous "White Male Main Team" change, but includes Gai as AbareKiller, since despite who their counterpart is, these three heroes were the 5th member of the respective teams. In J.A.K.Q., Big One came in and joined the original four Jackers. In Gekiranger, GekiChopper joined GekiViolet and the original three Gekirangers. In Abaranger, AbareKiller, despite officially being a Sixth Ranger, joined AbareBlack and the original three Abarangers.

Forever Red Gokai Change #2

Once a Ranger Retro Rangers Gokai Change

-This is based on the Once a Ranger special of Power Rangers Operation Overdrive; notably Marvelous has become MammothRanger due to the leadership role of Adam Park, Joe becomes MagiGreen due to Xander Bly's position as second-in-command, and Don becomes DekaRed due to Bridge Carson (the equivalent of Sen'ichi "Sen-chan" Enari in SPD) reaching the rank of "Red" in the PR version by this special. It also has Gai becoming Zubaan due to his role in the special.

Clash of the Red Rangers Gokai Change

Based on this poster, which does not feature the Gold Samurai Ranger.

- This change features the five-man Shinkenger team, with Shinken Gold replaced by Go-On Red, whose counterpart was the only one of the RPM Rangers to appear in the special. This works due to the reduced presence of Shinken Gold's counterpart, the Gold Samurai Ranger, who was portrayed by a stand-in and a replacement voice actor as his actor was absent, as well as the fact that Gai's actor voiced Go-On Red in Super Hero Taisen.
