"Thunder Megazord, power up!"
The Thunder Megazord, also referred to as Mega Thunderzord or simply Megazord, is the rangers' second Megazord formation. It comprises the Thunderzords. When Lord Zedd came to take over for Rita, the Rangers upgraded the Dinozords to the Thunderzords. When the Red Dragon, Lion, Unicorn, Griffin, and Firebird Thunderzords combine, they form the Thunder Megazord. It uses its sword as a weapon, and to finish off it's enemies powers up its sword and preforms a big slash. It also has an Assault Mode which is basically Red Dragon Thunderzord riding on the sled formed by the Thunderzord Assault Team.

Lord Zedd had come to the Moon, to try destroying the Power Rangers and taking over Earth himself. He sent down Pirantishead, who succeeded in freezing four Dinozords and taking control of the other. A simple refractoring of morph waves by Alpha 5, the Dinozords became Thunderzords, much more powerful than their predecessors. The Thunderzords were destroyed by Rito Revolto when he came to Earth to join Rita's crusade.
