Plot[]

Two military air jets where flying the skies til they saw "Unidentify Bogies" spotted in the air heading to their direction but not yet attack them. The first jet pilot asked what they are while the second jet pilot responded that he doesn't know and never seen anything like it.

Meanwhile at Angel Grove High, Kat met up with Tommy and Tanya at the new study hall that Kat likes. Tommy said that the resource center looks great while Tanya said it's nice. Tommy asked Tanya how she like Angel Grove so far. Tanya says she does like Angel Grove but she still feels like the new girl in town and wants to fit in. Katherine understands what Tanya is going through but Kat assures her that Tanya has to be herself and she will do fine. Tanya agrees about Kat's statement.

A young man named Shawn came to see Tanya, she introduce her boyfriend to Tommy and Kat. Shawn said he will be waiting for Tanya at their regular table and Tanya said to him she will be right there for him in a minute. Kat curiously asked Tanya about why she's hanging out with Shawn since Kat recognizes him as the captain of the baseball team. Tanya explains that Shawn has trouble with algebra so Tanya insist she help him with the big exam. Tommy complements Tanya that she is fitting in pretty well.

At the Power Chamber, Zordon thanks Billy for his technical help on working on the new Zeo Zords. Billy says he is honored to help but he has a question to Zordon about why the new Zeo Zords are hidden in the mountains outside of Angel Grove. Zordon explains to Billy that the hidden location of the Zeo Zords must be protected cause the mountains will protect the Zords there, preventing King Mondo's scanning systems to fine them. Alpha says that the Zeo Zords will be the most incredible fighting machines ever. Billy says he hopes so but he also says that the Zeo Zords need to be tested fully before the Rangers can use them against the Machine Empire. Alpha agrees with Billy. Zordon informs them that they must hurry. He is aware that Mondo and Machina believe that the Earth is invulnerable without the Zords. Alpha and Billy went back to work.

On the Moon at the Machine Palace, Prince Sprocket asked his father if the Quadrafighters Mondo sent to Earth earlier (the same "Unidentified Bogies" the two military air jets encountered) have found the hidden location of the Zeo Zords yet. Mondo believes he does and also thinks Zordon is a fool insulting him thinking he can hide the Zord Bay from Mondo. Mondo's wife, Machina says it's getting tiresome for not having a challenge. Mondo agrees and he will send the Cogs down to Earth to find the Zord Bay and destroy the Zords before they are completed.

Meanwhile on Earth, Bulk is inspecting his and Skull's Patrol Bike, he founds out it's not 100 percent clean and complains to their servants Rito and Goldar to clean it again. Goldar was not happy with that kind of insult from Bulk and wanted to quit but Rito reminds him that they promised to be Bulk and Skull's butlers if they give him and Goldar a place to stay. As Rito was doing his not so very best on the Patrol Bike, Bulk ask Skull that the time has come and to run their Patrol Bike up the flag pole and see it anyone salutes it. Skull and even Goldar and Rito are confused about what Bulk said.

The next scene shows Bulk and Skull riding their Patrol Bike down the road at fast speed. Bulk tells Skull that this is the best idea he ever had. Skull was confused. Bulk says that when Lt. Stone sees the "awesome crime fighting power" of their new Patrol Bike, he will beg Bulk and Skull to give them the tough assignments. Skull wonders why he never thought of that. Bulk says "That's because you are YOU and I am ME". Bulk wants Skull to check out the awesome gadgets their bike has by activating their rocket boosters. Skull presses a button and the duo are now at a faster speed on the road.

The Patrol Bike came to a complete stop. Bulk wondered what happened and why their bike stop moving. Skull claims that their bike might have a few bugs in it. Bulk, however, jokingly claims that Skull have a few bugs in his head. While Skull was working on getting the engine running, Bulk saw the Cogs sent by King Mondo coming out of the bushes heading towered to their direction. Bulk tries to get Skull's attention, he finally notice and they both scream for help.

Back at the Power Chamber, Billy hears Bulk and Skull's cry for help and sees them on the viewing globe. Alpha sees the viewing globe as well, he freaks out and informs Zordon that the Cogs have Bulk and Skull cornered. Billy also informed Zordon and Alpha that according to the readings from Billy, Bulk, Skull and the Cogs are less then five miles away from the Zeo Zord Holding Bay. Zordon informs Billy to contact the Ranger. Billy agrees, ready to contact them.

Back at Angel Grove High, Tanya meets up with Shawn, telling him they're ready to hit the books. Shawn says he's gonna ace this test without even opening a book. Tanya was confused about what Shawn meant but she still wants him to study in order to past the test. Shawn, however, shows Tanya a piece of paper with the answers to the test in it. Much to her shock.

Back with Bulk and Skull who are still surrounded by the Cogs. One of the Cogs informed his fellow robots that there primary objective is to find the Zeo Zord Bay. The Cogs left much to Bulk and Skull's confusion and relief.

Back at the school, Tanya was surprised but also disappointed that Shawn has the answers to the test. Shawn tries to explain he is doing this to past his test for his baseball team but Tanya tries to tell him that cheating is not the way to do it. Upset with Tanya, Shawn thought Tanya was suppose to be on his side but he realize he is wrong and left with the answers. At that moment, Tanya's Communicator went off. She went to a spot to hide and ask Zordon what's going on. Zordon informs Tanya that a platoon Cogs have been spotted to the direction where the Zords are being held. He tells Tanya to join the other Rangers who will be there to stop the Cogs. Tanya agrees and morphed.

Tanya showed up just in time and help her fellow Rangers deal with the Cogs. After the Rangers defeated the Cogs, the remaining robot soldiers retreated back to King Mondo's palace while the Rangers celebrate that their new Zords at the Holding Bay are safe from them for now.

Back at the Machine Palace, Machina was disappointed that the Cogs failed. Mondo, however, informs her that there is always a Plan B. Mondo says that Klank is creating Staroid to deal with the Rangers much to his wife's delight.

Tanya found Shawn behind a fence while he's practicing his baseball skills and she tries to talk to him about tomorrow's test. Still upset with Tanya, Shawn tells her again that he's already made up his mind. Tanya tries to reason with Shawn that if he would let her help him study he won't have to cheat. Shawn stubbornly says he can't take that chance and the answers he still has on him is sure to help him. But Tanya counters that he's not gonna learn anything that way by cheating. Shawn still stubbornly believe he doesn't do algebra the way he does baseball cause that's all he does is play baseball. Tanya understands that baseball is important to Shawn but she also says that his education also should be important. Shawn stops his practicing and angrily ask Tanya a question that if she came to lecture him instead of supporting him, then maybe it's for the best they stop seeing each other. Tanya says she's sorry about how Shawn feels that way but she still can't support his cheating, she sadly says goodbye to Shawn and left.

Back at the Machine Palace, Klank informs King Mondo that Staroid is ready. He orders Klank to send Starroid and Cogs down to Earth to attack the Power Rangers.

At the Youth Center, while Tommy and Adam where sparring, Tanya came to ask her friends something important. She has a problem and doesn't know where to start. Adam says that what ever Tanya's problem is, they're her friends and they want to help. Tanya says she know what Adam does. Their Communicators went off putting Tanya's problem on hold. The Rangers went to a spot to hide and Tommy ask Zordon what's going on. Zordon informs the Rangers to come to the Power Chamber at once. Tommy agrees and he and the other Rangers teleported out of the Youth Center.

As the Rangers arrive in the Power Chamber, Zordon informs them by showing images on the Viewing Globe that the forces of the Machine Empire are about to make a full scale attack on Earth. Zordon orders the Ranger to initiate the Zeo Zords. Billy worryingly tells Zordon that the Zords have not been tested yet. He also tells his friends that it might not be safe. Tommy says to Billy that they don't have a choice, the Zeo Zords our the Rangers' only hope and will have to take that risk. Katherine agrees and they have to stop the Machine Empire. Zordon instructs the Rangers to listen about the upmost importance. For Katherine and Tanya, the girls will pilot Zeo Zord I and Zeo Zord II. For Rocky and Adam, they will pilot Zeo Zord III and Zeo Zord IV. And finally for Tommy, he will pilot Zeo Zord V. Zordon tells the Rangers their new Zords are incredible machines but says they are only machines. The most important resources the Rangers have to fight their new foes are their human attributes. Tanya curiously ask what did Zordon meant. Zordon's explain to the Rangers that their hearts and minds are greater tools are anything that can be manufactured and claims that the Machine Empire can never built anything that can compare to them. Suddenly, the alarm went off, Zordon tells the Rangers to look at the Viewing Globe showing a giant-size Staroid attacking the city. Tommy says they are ready and Zordon says good luck. The Rangers morph into action.

At the Zeo Zord Holding Bay, the Zeo Rangers got into their new Zords. The Zord Bay doors open and the Zeo Zords charges out of the Zord Bay. While the Rangers are dealing with Staroid, Tommy was in a bine with the Quadrafighters and his Zord got stuck in some cable wires. The other Rangers in their Zords are having trouble fighting against Staroid. While Staroid in his ball form was about to make a fatal blow to the Zords, Zordon instructs Tommy and the other Rangers to activate their Zeonizer Crystals to form the Zeo Zords into the Zeo Megazord. Tommy agrees and he and his team place the Zeonizer Crystals into their control panels. The Zeo Zords got out of harms way just in time as Staroid's fire ball form hit the ground reverting back to his humanoid robotic form, annoyed and badly hurt that he miss. The Rangers form the Zeo Megazord. Staroid was not impress and was about to finish off the new Megazord but the Rangers summon the Zeo Megazord Saber and the Zeo Megazord used it to finish off Staroid. However, after Staroid was reduce to pieces, his core survived and was about to resemble his body. But the Rangers charge the Zeo Megazord's Saber to full power and finish off Staroid for good.

Back at the Machine Palace, King Mondo was in disbelief that the Rangers' Zeo Megazord destroyed Staroid. His wife was not pleased to have this disastrous development but Mondo quickly comes Machina and claims that he will not rest until he defeats the Rangers, conquer the human race and the Earth will be ruled by the Machine Empire once and for all.

Back at Angel Grove High, Shawn came to see Tanya, saying he was looking for her. Tanya however, tells him not to bother seeing her after what happened earlier between them and was about to leave. Shawn stops her and explains to her that he returns the answers to test to Mr. Caplan. Tanya was surprised. Shawn admits he was wrong before but he also admits he was acting like a jerk and hope it doesn't end badly between him and Tanya and wants to earn her respect. Tanya did admit that everyone makes mistakes so she reconciles with Shawn and helps him on his next test to study and this time no cheating involved.

Errors[]

  • Despite the Zeo Megazord’s cockpit being in the head, the Rangers are shown descending long rails in their chairs before they enter the cockpit. This would be repeated throughout the season.
  • Tanya morphed in Angel Grove High's corridor, where she would surely be seen.
  • When the Rangers first launch the Zeo Zords, the letters "U.A.O.H." are visible, which is the federation the Sentai counterparts, the Ohrangers work for.
    TSS056

Notes[]

  • First appearance of Tanya's boyfriend Shawn.
  • First appearance of Angel Grove High School's Resource Center.
  • The Youth Center receives a minor redesign in this episode, with the exercise equipment being removed while the walls near the primary exit are now bricked instead of being yellow.
  • This is the first time Super Sentai footage was used for Katherine morphed, as her appearances in Mighty Morphin was when Zyuranger footage was no longer used.
  • The original airings of Bulk and Skull’s motorcycle scene featured a hard rock song in the vein of “Born To Be Wild” by Steppenwolf. International versions and later reruns feature a rock version of the Bulk and Skull theme.
