Tenga Warriors

Tenga Warriors are large bird warriors that serve Lord Zedd and Rita Repulsa. When Rito arrived, he gave Zedd and his sister special eggs. These eggs ended up being the evil Tengas. These ferocious birds challenged the Rangers in battle. The Rangers usually defeated them in Ninja Ranger forms, but sometimes fought them in civilian clothes, like the Putties.

The Tengas were the first Power Rangers foot soldiers to speak fluent English, something that is not often seen to this day. Despite this, they were, in practice, no more intelligent than their predecessors.

When Vile arrived, he gave the Tengas special seeds. This made them more deadly, forcing the Rangers to fight with their new Metallic Armor.

In Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers: The Movie the Tengas were called Tengu Warriors and were created by Ivan Ooze's loogie. They attacked the Rangers on Phaedos, but were defeated by Dulcea, forcing them to retreat. Because of this Ivan Ooze killed them by electric bolts from his fingertips.

An early draft of the script has Ivan Ooze, after the Tengus' initial failure at destroying the Rangers, called upon the power of darkness to make lightning bolts supercharge the Tengus' evil tenfold, then he used an energy bolt to create a differently-colored Queen Tengu with glowing red eyes. A "Queen Tenga" appears as a boss in the Game Boy version of Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers: The Movie.
