"Legend has it that there is a lost temple hidden beneath the Desert of Despair. The keeper of the temple is named Ninjor. He forged the original Power Coins to be used by those battling the evil forces of the universe but this may only be a myth."
―The legend of the Temple of Power as told by Zordon of Eltar.[src]

The interior

The Temple of Power is a place of purity and great power in the Desert of Despair operated by Ninjor the ninja master that served as a major plot-device in the third season of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.

Layout[]

The external entrance to the Temple of Power is hidden on a large distinctive rock formation behind some sharp rocks in the Desert of Despair with a boulder covering the entrance. The real entrance inside the mountain is actually a false wall which is in actuality a "power vortex" designed to trick intruders. The majority of the Temple of Power is made up by a large sanctuary made up of plant-life, rocks and waterfalls where Ninjor taught the Power Rangers about their animal spirits. At the very back of the Temple of Power is a large misty blue room with gates at the entrance containing a giant blue vase where Ninjor likes to spend his spare time.

Location History[]

Past[]

Using knowledge gained through books by the Morphin Masters, Ninjor learned about the Grid and the Power Coins were forged "to be used by those battling the evil forces of the universe." However, for over 10,000 years, this remained a myth as Zordon of Eltar and Alpha 5 just stumbled upon the Power Coins with a map to the Temple of Power hidden in the Desert of Despair.

Mighty Morphin[]

When Rito Revolto destroys the Thunderzords and damages the first set of Power Coins permanently, the Power Rangers seek out Ninjor at the Temple of Power for assistance. After a long journey through the Desert of Despair, including Aisha being caught in quicksand and an ambush by Tenga Warriors, they find the hidden entrance and enter through the false wall. After entering the inner sanctum, they find Ninjor in a jar who initially refuses to held them until they prove their worthiness. In the inner sanctum, Ninjor shows them the mighty Ninjazords and grants them their new powers as well before they use their new Ninja Ranger powers to defeat the Tengas. After the defeat of Rito though, a Vampirus monster hatches from outside the entrance and plans to conquer the Temple for Rita Repulsa and Lord Zedd only to be stopped by Ninjor and the Power Rangers. Ninjor is initially unwilling to cooperate as he wishes to be left alone and even mocks the rookie cop by poking his eye when the Blue Senturion picks up his bottle. However, when Ninjor overhears that the Rangers are related to the crime, he grows curious and excitedly decides to join the Blue Senturion as his partner on the case much to the Blue Senturion’s chagrin.
