Continuity & Placement[]
The reasoning given for the placement of this in the middle of the Gavan two-parter makes no sense for multiple reasons. In the special itself, Hiromu doesn’t identify Gavan until after Ryūji explains who Gavan is, so it has to take place before Mission 31. And even if it did take place after that, the Gavan that appears is the original, not Type-G, so Geki leaving after Mission 32 has no bearing on his presence here. It also can’t take place between 31 and 32 because no one shows any surprise that Enter is still alive in this special, contradicting the fact that him surviving was a shocking reveal to them in Mission 32.
We need to adjust the placement of this special and the episodes adjacent to it. It has to be somewhere before Mission 29 at the latest, since that leads into the Vaglass’s presumed defeat in Mission 30, so Enter being alive and Hiromu being unfamiliar with Gavan can make sense.
