Introducing the RangerWiki app!

This thread has been moved from the forum upon it's closure.

Blue Glass Arrow See also: Thread:85300

Good news guys, we're getting our own app. I've been trying to set it up on Special:CuratedContent, but the help page didn't mention that the images would appear much larger than on that page - and in fact, must be bigger than 660x440px. A lot of our team and ranger images are smaller than this, especially for older seasons. We need new images ASAP. Digifiend (talk) 23:08, 11 March 2015

Redesigning Headers

I like what I've seen at Gokyr's thread over at Kamen Rider Wiki. So please look at our current templates and let us know what changes you'd like to see:

Digifiend (talk) 22:43, 7 April 2015

Some of the pics are rather dated in these, a few ideas I had:
-Merge: either the "every team ever lead by the Goseiger" from ep. 1 of Gokaiger or maybe the Hurricaneger/Gouraiger/Shurikenger combo; that or maybe a better quality pic of the six Zyuranger/Power Rangers pic
-Block: First thing to come to mind is probably the Yokai Door from Kakuranger with "Sealing!" as the entry
-Spoiler: definitely think "giant Sha-Fu", since it is something that hasn't been learned yet (or the Shiba Clan seal); that or some Time Force/Timeranger reference about "the future is not set in stone"
StrangerAtaru (talk) 23:02, 7 April 2015
The block templates look a bit bland compared to the rest of the templates. Maybe because the text looks a bit too small, but I don't know exactly. A good thing to do, however, is starting to incorporate lines from Power Rangers as opposed to those from Super Sentai already in use.
For an eventual spoiler template, I would suggest something like "i don't wanna see this" or something like that.
WikiMan (talk) 02:17, 8 April 2015
Small? The text size on the Block templates is the same size as or bigger than on the others.
Digifiend (talk) 12:13, 8 April 2015
I mean, the block template looks a bit "empty".
One thing would be adding the reasons for blocking the user, as well as the block's timespan.
WikiMan (talk) 20:35, 8 April 2015
I don't exactly know much about Sentai/PR, so I can't exactly help much here. But I would suggest having several Delete templates created, featuring the finishers of recent Sentai/Ranger teams, just like the existing counterpart and the new ones I've created at KR Wiki.
Gokyr586 (talk) 10:00, 8 April 2015
I have few idea and suggestion:
Block: The five core Gokaigers' "Final Wave!" (the Sabre part). Or Kyoryu Red throwing the Kentrospiker with "Zyuden Brave Finish!"
Pat141elite (talk) 11:23, 8 April 2015
Also had a ToQ idea for the Spoiler link: the Rainbow Line at missing track with the line "this section is not finished yet" (or would that work for stubs more)
StrangerAtaru (talk) 12:17, 8 April 2015
Sounds better for stubs, I think.
Digifiend (talk) 20:10, 8 April 2015
For Delete, the first thing that comes to mind is Dekaranger. You should be able to tell why.
For Block, how about the Sealing Character from Shinkenger? The Kakurangers sealing away Daimaou and their group of Youkai also sounds good.
Jmcdavid (talk) 00:10, 9 April 2015
For the block ones, I like the idea of having the Sealing Symbol from Shinkenger. Of the existing block ones, to be honest the only one I like is Dekaranger one.
For merge, possibly something along the lines of "Article Gattai", though I don't know what image we could use.
That outdated/update one, if we keep it, could use a shot of the Wild West Rangers. Or Alpha 4.
Delete could be a shot from the Go-Onger/RPM finale, of everyone being deleted.
The rest (Particularly the Stub and Disambig ones) I like.
A spoiler idea: A shot of the Kyoryugers. Have it either say "Read and be spoiled!" or "Only the BRAVE should read on."
Howling Snail (talk) 17:10, 9 April 2015
Copied the existing templates to User:Digifiend/Sandbox/Templates. The intention is to gradually update them as we continue to brainstorm ideas and find suitable pictures.
EDIT: Spoiler template added to that sandbox. That's what you had in mind, right, Howling Snail?
Digifiend (talk) 21:54, 18 April 2015
Yep, that's exactly what I was going for. I'm still in favour a shot of the Wild West Rangers for the Outdated/Update one though.
Just had some more ideas: For Split, maybe that shot of the time early on in the show where ToQ-Oh split apart to dodge some missiles. For block, how about a shot of J blocking Jin? A possible shot you could use: http://powerrangers.wikia.com/wiki/File:Gobusblock1.jpg
Howling Snail (talk) 23:10, 18 April 2015
Somehow had a random Disambiguation idea with Dr. K from RPM asking "and what does that make you" (leading to the obvious "I'm Scottish!") so it isn't just Dmitria

Front page tweaks

This thread has been moved from the forum upon it's closure.

Wikia has decided to alter the way the typography and layout is done: http://community.wikia.com/wiki/User_blog:Rupert_Giles/Layout_Changes:_Breakpoints_and_Typography

On lower screen resolutions, which after the changes will apply even at 1024x768, the right rail is to be pushed to the bottom. This means the season list gets pushed down, an undesirable effect. So I figured, why not swap it with the wiki hub links? This is the result (yeah, I haven't copied most of the images over, but you can see the layout): http://digifiend.wikia.com/wiki/Digifiend_Test_Wiki

What do you think? Good idea?

Here's how the front page will look after Wikia's changes are applied. Zoom in if your screen resolution is bigger than 1064px wide and you'll see what I mean. http://powerrangers.wikia.com/wiki/RangerWiki?oasisbreakpoints=1&oasistypography=1&useskin=oasis

Digifiend (talk) 01:27, 17 April 2015

My only concern with that is that it's a long way to scroll to get down past the seasons list of you wanted to, but I'm not sure how avoidable that'd be, or how much people actually use the stuff below it.
Howling Snail (talk) 13:25, 17 April 2015
Fair comment, but on low screen resolutions, it's even further to scroll if I leave it as it is - especially on mobiles where there's no right rail at all. And unfortunately, I don't know how often the content further down the page is used.

Sentai villain genders

This thread has been moved from the forum upon it's closure.

Ever since TVNihon started their discussion about the ambiguous gender of certain Sentai villains, I wanted to raise the issue here, to settle the matter on what gender we should refer to these characters to on this very wiki.

The villains I take the most issue with, are Luckyuro, from Kyoryuger and Kyuemon Izayoi from Ninninger. Both of them do not really seem that female to me, while Super Sentai is usually very obvious about it when a suited villain is female, as suited female villains usually have an appropriately shaped chest, lips, or feminine clothes shaped on the suit.

In the case of Luckyuro, I think he more resembles a bratty little boy in terms of behavior and design than a girl. His way of talking and behavior doesn't seem girlish to me at all, compared to other female characters in the same show. Also, I can't really make out a female gender in the interactions other characters have with Luckyuro. The other villains always treat him like a younger nephew than a little girl. Another arguement is that his suit is currently used for Curio in Dino Charge, who is a male character, meaning the suit is not nessescarily female shaped.

With Izayoi, I think he is meant to be something of a young male servant type of character. To me, the suit of the character looks more boyish than girlish. If you were to ask me what gender Izayoi is without ever hearing the voice, I would go for male. His voice also sounds like a young boy than a girl. And again, none of the behavior and interactions with others show Izayoi to be a female.

So I really think these characters are meant to be male. Especially when you consider Super Sentai isn't the most sublte of shows when it comes to character types and genders.

So what do you think the gender of these characters are? Should they continue to be reffered to as female, or should we change them to male?

And are there other suited Sentai characters who raise these same issues?

Dark-Lord- (talk) 09:28, 10 May 2015

Well, Kyuemon Izayoi has a female voice actress and Kitsunes are usually depicted as female in some Japanese folklore. Plus, most Sentai shows have a least one female commander in the villain group. Also, this was confirmed at the press event that introduced Ninininger as the 39th sentai series.
Aldo The Fox (talk) 15:11, 10 May 2015
With the amount of arguments telling Izayoi is female, I get why the choice of gender is made this way. I think the genderneutral appearance of this character can be attributed to being based on a Japanese priest, who seem to be wearing rather wide clothing.
However, with Luckyuro I still go for male. While he is voiced by a woman, it does not mean he is a woman. There are multiple characters on tv shows who are voiced by women but meant to be male. Examples on this wiki are Kocha, from Ohranger and Alpha 6, from Power Rangers Turbo/In Space.
A large amount of male characters voiced by females are kids, or childlike characters. Luckyuro definately falls into the latter category.
Another thing speaking against Luckyuro being female is Brave 14, in which he found himself regularly physically punished by a teacher-themed monster, which was played for comedy. I don't think the producers would get away with comical abuse for a female character like that.
Dark-Lord- (talk) 19:04, 12 May 2015
Wasn't Luckyuro referred to with female pronouns/honorifics? Luckyuro isn't humanoid and was one of the villains, and I've noticed female characters (especially villains) tend to be more objectified in Sentai (then again there's a fair share of bishounen males lately which is almost just as bad...). I'm not going to pretend I understand what they view as acceptable when it comes to showing things like that on TV in japan though.
Also, I seem to recall Luckyuro having an effeminate hobby, it was some romance manga or something, this is more of a minor detail as it's really unfair to judge by this aspect alone.
Lastly, it's one thing to be voiced by a woman, but Luckyuro has a human form too, which is portrayed by her voice actress as well. Aside from the obvious point of them being able to dub over her being played by a male actor in human form, the key point here is that they gave her one at all when they didn't need to. I'd say this is pretty much irrefutable evidence that she is in fact female. Kore wa shomeidesu. (talk) 00:51, May 16, 2015 (UTC)
I rewatched the episode in which he takes on a human form. Since the monster of the episode is a director themed monster, his powers revolve around acting. In a conversation the monster had with Luckyuro, it implied he gave Luckyuro the human disguise and forced him to act as Candelilla's mother. When the monster hit him, critizizing Luckyuro's acting, Luckyuro's disguise fell apart with a filmroll effect, further impying it was the monster's doing.
It also felt more like a short gag, to give the voice actress an oppurtunity for a cameo, as the disguise had nothing to do with the character himself. The human disguise looked and acted like a middle aged upper class woman, while the character represents a little kid. The way of talking both forms had really sound different compared to one and another. Compare this to Candelilla, who's disguise really fits the character, as she is meant to be a cute girl type of character.

We could have something related to the Nin Shuriken or Dino Chargers/Zyudenchi, but that seems out of place. That's just my two cents.

On another note, we should have a Featured Article vote or something. The current featured articles have been up there for over a year, it's about time we replace them. AkaNinger (talk) 07:08, June 25, 2015 (UTC)

Legend Sentai Devices

With the continuing sight of Sentai devices utilizing or referencing past team's powers, I thought it might be a good idea to shorten/clean up some pages with multiple such devices. I think the best way for us to do so is to convert the Ranger Key section into something we use on Kamen Rider Wiki: a Legend Sentai Devices section. I put up a few examples of what I'm proposing here for AbaRed, here for NinjaRed, and here for a combination page with multiple types of devices. Of course on the latter page these are all examples used for illustrative purposes, but I think it would help save space on several pages and help keep information better organized as not all rangers/teams have had each type of device. I am up for ideas and discussions of possible refinements to this, and I'd like to know what everyone thinks as far as implementation goes. All I ask of everyone is not to make a change without stating here what it is and why you are suggesting it.  Nbajammer  Talk  RW  KR  MH  TK  KI  JD  Garo  TH  CG  UM  GZ  TF  48  BS  SH  SI  TFs  FF  SO  RE  GA  CT  DQ  17:22,6/25/2015

Emergency: Orends Range has been taken down by Google

On 8/21, Google shut down Ukiyaseed's site under claims of copyright violation despite the fact that his blog clearly cites its news sources. (It is most likely the streams of video that got him in trouble). Ukiya has a backup site on Weebly until he can can fix this mistake by disputing these accusations and verifying he is a journalist and not a thief as the robot software or person who made the claim implies. If and when it comes back up, we will delete this post. Until then here is the backup site: http://ukiyaseed.weebly.com/

Why does this not surprise me. There's never been anything on his blog that wasn't of his own creation, unless he embedded it from the actual location - which isn't copyright violation. His "Who Subs What" lists are very useful for identifying whether shows are subbed or not (he had posts for all four main franchises, Sentai, Rider, Metal Heroes and Ultraman) - I see questions of that nature on Facebook, Rangercrew and Rangerboard fairly often. And when he posts news, it is usually cited (which does mean there shouldn't be too many links to clean up, as we should be citing whatever he cited if the source is in English).  Digifiend  Talk  PR/SS  KR  MH  Toku  JD  Garo  TH  CG  UM  Logos  CLG  DW  01:57, 22/8/2015

Toei Hero Next

So I've been thinking about the Toei Hero Next films, and whether or not they deserve a place on here (And on Kamen Rider Wiki). I've only seen the OOO and Kyoryuger ones, but the Kyoryuger one specifically mentions the Kyoryugers, and that it (And presumably the sequel stage show that's happening) is in the Sentai universe, so personally I think it deserves coverage on the Wiki, which would also mean giving the other 3 films coverage too. What do people think? I mean, personally I think being in the same universe and featuring the same cast by the same company is enough reason to give them coverage here, but I won't do it without approval. Howling Snail (talk) 14:53, December 3, 2015 (UTC)

Comic books

I've added a new preload for comic books and finalised an infobox for them. We need to give comic books (Hamilton, Marvel, Papercutz, Boom! Any Sentai manga can use the same page format.  Digifiend  Talk  PR/SS  KR  MH  Toku  JD  Garo  TH  CG  UM  Logos  CLG  DW  18:13, 9/12/2015

Can a Monster Creation page be made?

I figure since there is a page dedicated to monsters growing in both Power Rangers and Super Sentai, would it be acceptable to make a wiki page of how villains create monsters: whether they use magic technology, or even simply recruit the monsters if they don't directly create them? Magic713 (talk) 02:02, January 4, 2016 (UTC)

It's not a bad idea but its really tough to say especially with how many groups tend to have ones where the monsters are just normal beings or that have a mix of a whole bunch of things (Zone in particular has a combo of aliens and some of Doldora's creations; then the Combined Galactic Warriors later on; its a bit confusing too with Mess since many of them were created by Lie Kophlen but some are "finds" discovered by Sir Kauler); let alone those where it really isn't that sure where they come from. (Gorenger and J.A.K.Q. are rather infamous with that) I'd give a thumbs up but I want to see what others have to say. -StrangerAtaru (talk) 02:36, January 4, 2016 (UTC)

Power Rangers Ninja Steel Plot Synopsis Revealed!!!

IGN gave us an exclusive about some information about the upcoming Power Rangers Season in 2017.

For one, the name Power Rangers Ninja Steel that was found as a trademark submitted by Saban Brands has been confirmed as a official title for the 24th season of Power Rangers.

We also learned that Power Rangers will stay with Nickelodeon till at least 2018.

Finally, we were given a plot synopsis for Power Rangers Ninja Steel.

"Saban's Power Rangers Ninja Steel starts deep in space, where Zircon is the reigning champion of the most popular intergalactic game show in the universe, and monsters battle to prove who is the mightiest warrior. Zircon is determined to become invincible by controlling the mythical Spirit Crystal, which contains six supernatural Ninja Power Throwing Stars. The only thing standing in his way is a new team of heroic teenage Power Rangers who possess the Spirit Crystal. The evil Zircon sends his warrior contestants down to Earth to steal the Crystal, where each epic battle against the Rangers is broadcast throughout the universe. Together, the Rangers must master their arsenal of Throwing Stars, Zords and Megazords, each made of legendary ninja steel, in order to stop this evil threat and save our planet from destruction."

I raised this on the article's talk page a while ago but it seems to have been missed so I'll raise it here. Something needs to be done about the Mecha and Giant Robo Cockpits page. It was locked 3 years ago but nothing's been done about it. Either we need to move the content and delete the page, or unlock the page and update it.

I'm personally in favour of the latter. I think it's a worthwhile page and I'd like to see it updated. Howling Snail (talk) 20:23, July 20, 2016 (UTC)

Trivia

I removed some pointless trivia from the page for Ep. 28: The Space Pirates Return because it was pointless and irrelevant. This is now turning into an edit war between me and the person that added it so I will post it here for admin cofirmation. The text in question is this:

**As of this episode, the Go-Busters Ranger Keys are now canon. They've existed in toy form for more than four years prior and were set aside despite the Buddyroid keys being part of Tokumei Sentai Go-Busters vs. Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger: The Movie. The keys Gokai Red and Gokai Yellow use are not prop keys but toy keys made in deluxe form. In addition, the Red Buster key is a metallic version. + **This episode also finally canonizes at least some of the Ranger Keys for Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger and Ressha Sentai ToQger which were released as Bandai Premium exclusives. The keys used by Gokai Pink to turn into Kyoryu Pink and Gokai Green to turn into ToQ 4gou Green are the premium toy keys as well. + **The episode teases the release of Shuriken Sentai Ninninger Premium Ranger Keys as the AoNinger key Gokai Blue uses is a toy made in premium format.

Going on and on about the Ranger Key toyline is irrelevant to the episode's page. Am I write on this? Howling Snail (talk) 20:20, September 5, 2016 (UTC)

It actually IS relevant. Up until that episode, the keys were only part of the toyline and thus were not canon. The fact that some of the keys were used in the episode canonizes them, though it does not explain how or why they exist. Rumors had persisted for a little while now that Ninninger keys would also be made, and the use of the AoNinger key in Episode 28 pretty much indicates, based on past behavior, that those keys are forthcoming - perhaps as part of the recently announced 2000th ranger key set. The trivia would be pointless if the keys in question were not used as part of the show itself, but they were used in the show and thus the episode itself is the source for the trivia.  Nbajammer  Talk  RW  KR  MH  TK  KI  JD  Garo  TH  CG  UM  GZ  TF  48  BS  SH  SI  TFs  FF  SO  RE  GA  CT  DQ  21:48,9/5/2016
But since when do episode pages go on massice tangents about the toyline? You don't see other episode pages discussing toyline stuff. Go-Busters episode 26's page doesn't say "This canonises Go-Buster Ace Stag Custom which had been available in the toyline for several months prior". Gokaiger Episode 29's page doesn't say "This canonises Gojyu Gokai-Oh which had been available in the toyline several months prior". Because such things are unimportant to that episode's page, just as this is unimportant to this episode's page. At the very least we don't need three enormous paragraphs on the subject.Howling Snail (talk) 22:02, September 5, 2016 (UTC)
The episode itself is what changes the canonicity of the keys. Just because this happened here doesn't mean it hasn't happened before, or that it won't again. The fact that the keys have been out, yet in-show have not been such a thing, makes it very relevant. If you feel it is too wordy, then feel free to re-word it - but it IS relevant. What sets things like Gojyu Gokai-Oh apart from this is that mecha are known to have alternate forms which may appear first in the toyline and later on in the show. That's to be expected. What isn't is things like these keys which came out as toys likely for fan service, but later were added to the show when there originally was no intent for them to be.  Nbajammer  Talk  RW  KR  MH  TK  KI  JD  Garo  TH  CG  UM  GZ  TF  48  BS  SH  SI  TFs  FF  SO  RE  GA  CT  DQ  23:58,9/5/2016

Some clarification needed (2000th episode)

So as of today's Zyuohger/Gokaiger episode, the fandom has pretty much gone berserk over a few matters, so what's the verdict on these two main issues?:

 • As a result of Beet and Stag Buster being absent from the Super Sentai Hero Getter 2016 credits, does this change their status from core members to sixth members? (The last time this was discussed)
 • Due to the credits showing the Gokaigers as the core members (and as a result showing female and male versions of KyoryuBlack, KiNinger and ShiroNinger respectively) does this warrant having Go-Busters - Ninninger forms on the 5 main Gokaigers, even though it never happens in the show proper (as of now)?

Style Guide,Storylinks and Biographies in General

Hello, I was looking through the pages that were coming up as suggestion for editing and I thought about a few different things:

 • Is it okay to go through and split biographies up into sections based on Series, e.g if a character appears in several series can it be divided up. From that, should the headings be in universe, or out of universe. For example, Bridge's page has the headings 'Early Life', 'SPD', 'Once a Ranger' and 'Super Megaforce'. Should Once A Ranger be 'Operation Overdrive' to be consistent, should there be an 'Early Life' section at all? The MMPR rangers have their sections done in universe (and I feel as if their descriptions are overly descriptive, rather than summaries).
 • Can a cross wiki link, such as to the Taisen movies be placed in a Storylink template? Sorry if this is covered somewhere, I can't find it.
 • There's nothing in the Style Guide for locations. Do you guys want to write something up, or should I have a play around with pages, such as Animarium and Ninja Ops and see what works? TARDY! (talk) 08:33, September 24, 2016 (UTC)

Attention all admins: linking to Wikizilla has been banned by Fandom. This is preventing us from updating the front page. Apparently they're being accused of spam, which simply isn't true. Considering those actions are affecting other wikis besides theirs, which otherwise have nothing to do with the matter directly, perhaps we should examine things ourselves. I am bothered also by the fact that it could just as easily have said google.com and Fandom would probably ban it. From where I sit, it looks like their feelings were hurt when Wikizilla opted to move to their own domain, and that this is an act of retaliation which is a very hostile move on Fandom's part. Supposedly Fandom is all about communities, but their actions are suggesting otherwise.  Nbajammer  Talk  RW  KR  MH  TK  KI  JD  Garo  TH  CG  UM  GZ  TF  48  BS  SH  SI  TFs  FF  SO  RE  GA  CT  DQ  18:43,11/2/2016

Enabling Discussions

Hi guys!

I’m Mike with the Community Development Team at Fandom. With the release of the new Power Rangers movie on March 24, 2017, interest in the franchise will be at a high. We anticipate an influx of visitors and contributions to Ranger Wiki and the associated Community App in the months prior to and surrounding the film’s release. To capitalize on this projected increase, we will be enabling the Discussions feature on Ranger Wiki.

In case you are unaware of what Discussions is, allow me to explain. Discussions is a conversation feature that is available for use in web browsers (desktop and mobile) and in Community Apps. It lives on the wiki in a separate space, complementing but at the same time separate from the day to day running of the wiki itself.

Participants in Discussions can create new posts, reply to posts, and "upvote" posts or replies. It is a proven tool to increase membership in the community, and it is a great tool to allow contributors to contribute to the wiki and to interact with other members of the community. Discussions has been successfully implemented on several high-profile wikis such as Wookieepedia and Nukapedia. The Power Rangers Community App has over 10,000 unique users every month and many of them are discovering Ranger Wiki for the first time via the app. The next generation of editors will come from this crop of users, so Discussions can be a useful tool for reader outreach and community growth. If you have never checked out the app, you can download it for [Android] and [iOS] at any time.

Discussions works across all platforms, allowing users to participate from desktop and mobile browsers or apps. Discussions can also allow contributors to engage and discuss about a subject before its release. Some individual wikis can have strict guidelines about what can and can not be discussed on the wiki itself, including speculation, original content, or general discussions about the topic. Discussions is a great place for users to talk about these topics while keeping the wiki itself free from off-topic discussions.

Current members of the Ranger Wiki community can choose to participate in Discussions as much or as little as they like. Administrators and Fandom Staff will have moderation tools to keep Discussions safe and unvandalized. Many wikis who have implemented Discussions have also promoted members of the Discussions community to Moderator positions to create a truly unique community experience. Since the editing community will likely be very busy with creating content and maintaining the wiki due to the movie release, Fandom staff and volunteers will be on hand to oversee moderation as needed. Cavalier One Talk 18:28, February 7, 2017 (UTC)

I really, REALLY wish this had been brought before us first to inquire whether we were interested in having the feature turned on (or not), or whether we even have a need for it. We had to close the forums down due to constant spamming with threads that were irrelevant to the subject or were fan worshipping and not constructive discussions for editing the wiki (our intended purpose) or even constructive discussion period (which we wouldnt want, but would not have called for forum closure necessarily). Looking over many of the wikis which currently use this feature, I don't see a lot of use out of it. I don't really see where we would use it. I personally wouldn't use it. The fandom already has sites such as RangerCrew and RangerBoard for things like this, and the need is already met that way. At times, we have enough to admin as it is and we'd have to monitor this too on top of it. Not to mention our Facebook page, Twitter feed, etc. In all honesty, my fellow admins and I should have been permitted to vote on this - why we weren't allowed to, I don't know. I see you also mention the app - the app is inconsistent with our identity in the name that it has. Our wiki covers both Power Rangers and Super Sentai - the name of the app should reflect the name of the wiki, which is RangerWiki. Less of an issue compared to the Discussions, but an issue all the same.  Nbajammer  Talk  RW  KR  MH  TK  KI  JD  Garo  TH  CG  UM  GZ  TF  48  BS  SH  SI  TFs  FF  SO  RE  GA  CT  DQ  19:49,2/7/2017
I understand the concern you have regarding this. We at Fandom see Discussions as a tool for both community growth and outreach. Although this is primarily through the community app at the moment, we are thinking in the long term. Capturing the attention of app users while the movie is in theaters and being actively discussed is one of the key ways to engage fans and to encourage them to become contributors to the wiki itself. By giving them a platform tied to the wiki itself, we hope that they will make the transition to active editors and contributors.
We also want Discussions to be seen as a positive addition to the community, and be more than just a tool to bring in new community members. Fandom Staff are more than happy to handle moderation of Discussions in the period surrounding the movie. Of course, we do encourage administrators to interact with users in Discussions so that you can see how best the platform can be used to augment and support the wiki community. However, we understand the additional responsibilities that this puts on administrators that they might not welcome, and that a forum/discussions platform is something they are not interested in. Like with any part of your contributions to Fandom, you can be as active as you wish to be. Some communities that have enabled Discussions have solved this by promoting active users to moderator status. This allows administrators to concentrate on the wiki management, while a trusted team handles moderation of the Discussions feature.
Regarding the app name: they are optimized for search and discovery within the app store. For instance, the Star Wars wiki app is not named Wookieepedia despite that being the official name of the wiki. Cavalier One Talk 16:44, February 8, 2017 (UTC)

What warrants a comparison page and what doesn't?

A long while ago (in 2015 according tomy history), I made a topic wether the Comparison:Dr._Hinelar_vs._Furio should stay or not, because the comparison was rather superficial, seeing as the only thing these characters had in common was the monster costume. My argument against this comparison was that comparing these characters would be like comparing Gorma XV to Master Org, which are both unrelated characters from completely different series. Following this topic, the staff decided to delete the Hinelar vs Furio comparison for the reasons I mentioned.

However, I now see that the Hinelar vs Furio page has returned and is joined by several other comparisons of characters that have nothing in common, apart from using (a modified version of) the same costume. Case in point being Comparison:Baron Nero vs. Cosmo Royale.

So my question is: What guidelines do you have in creating comparison pages? If there aren't any, is it a good idea to create them? Because if merely using the same costume warants a comparison page, people could easily create nonsensical comparisons such as "General Venjix and his goons vs the B-Fighters", "Tabu vs Ripcon's mother"  or "Amanojaku vs. Onyx Tavern Patron in the background".

Why in the Template: EpisodeInfo do you refer to Latin America only as Brazil?

In Latin America, Cartoon Network is not divided by countries, but by "feeds" that alternate the schedules according to the region. And obviously, the Brazilian feed is in Portuguese unlike the others that are in Spanish.

You should know that when an episode debuts in Brazil, also debuts in Mexico, Venezuela, Argentina and the rest of Latin America the same day. Angel135 (talk) 17:34, September 9, 2017 (UTC)
