Reiji Takigawa (レイジ・タキガワ?) was the older brother of Kinji Takigawa. During Kinji's childhood, Reiji fought the Yokai as a Yokai Hunter alongside his father Junji back in America before they were killed by the Western Yokai Wolf Man while saving Kinji.

Years later, the now grown-up Kinji honored his father and elder brother by fighting the Yokai in Japan as StarNinger. However, when faced with the Youkai Umibozu, he lost faith when he was shown an illusion depicting their deaths at the hands of Wolf Man, but regained his resolve after being encouraged by his fellow Ninningers. Shinobi 17: Good Bye, StarNinger! Kinji later came face-to-face with the Western Yokai Wolf Man himself, eventually prevailing over the Yokai and resisting Kyuemon Izayoi, Kinji confided with his teammates that he had wanted the Last Ninja's End Shuriken so he could use it to resurrect his father and older brother. Shinobi 27: It's Summer! Chozetsu Star is Born!

Etymology

Reiji shares the ( ji?) ending of his given name with both his father Junji and his younger brother Kinji.
