Megahorn was one of the Ten Terrors, and also the first of the Terrors to break the "Rules of Darkness". He looked very similar to a Drake creature, was the fourth Terror to battle the Rangers, and gets fought in the episodes "The Hunter" and "The Snow Prince". Megahorn serves as the secondary antagonist of the episode "The Hunter" and the main antagonist of the episode "The Snow Prince".

History[]

Megahorn first appeared in the episode "The Light" when Necrolai discovered the cave of the Ten Terrors. Necrolai told them that the Master was defeated again and the Terrors now had to help the Master conquer the world and destroy the Power Rangers. Megahorn was delighted of their mission. The Terrors arrived in the human world and told the people of Briarwood to give them the Light, who is actually Nick Russell, the Red Ranger and leader of Mystic Rangers. They easily defeated the Rangers' Manticore Megazord and left. Tvicon TV STORY-The Light

Megahorn, along with Serpentina, felt annoyed that the Terrors should follow the Rules of Darkness according to the Stone of Judgement. Believing that the Terrors should destroy their enemies at all costs, he is often frustrated by the Stone not picking him yet.

He broke the Rules of Darkness once already in the episode "The Hunter". Secretly going up to the surface without being chosen, he fought against Daggeron, who had been busy training with Jenji. Megahorn wanted to destroy Daggeron to impress the Master and become the main Terror. He nearly succeeded in destroying Daggeron but Itassis intervened and forced him to leave. Still, Megahorn vowed that he will face the Solaris Knight again. Tvicon TV STORY-The Hunter

At the end of the episode "Hard Heads", Serpentina claimed that Megahorn would avenge her defeat. Tvicon TV STORY-Hard Heads

In the episode "The Snow Prince", Megahorn was at last selected by the Stone of Judgement to attack the Surface World. He happily went, even showing the arrogance to rub it in Gekkor's face, to which the Wavern-like Terror replied "Whatever".

The Rangers had little success against him when they fought him at first but Nick managed to reveal a weak spot on the back of his neck when he repeatedly attacked him. Megahorn, however, was able to revert the Rangers from Titan form and Ranger form altogether and prepared to finish them off when the Snow Prince appeared and battled him. Surprisingly, even outside of his dimension the Snow Prince managed to hold his own with Megahorn, though the dragon eventually overpowered him.

The Snow Prince then transported Megahorn into his dimension and he, along with the Rangers, battled him amongst the snowy plains. Daggeron, however, was excluded because the Snow Prince did not feel he had learned what he needed to know. Megahorn, however, still could not be defeated, easily and defeated the Rangers once again, along with the Snow Prince, and broke free from the Snow Prince's dimension.

This was when Daggeron arrived and battled Megahorn himself, repeatedly attacking Megahorn in both his Ranger form (Solaris Knight) and his Ancient Mystic Mode in the same fashion as Nick did. He managed to rediscover Megahorn's weak point, on the back of his neck, and targeted that area and temporarily defeated Megahorn.

This did not stop the dragon-like Terror, however, and he grew to giant size to battle the Rangers once more. It was at this time Sculpin sent Black Lance to assist him since he believed two Terrors would be far more successful than one (and it was secretly to draw Leanbow out) much to Megahorn's dismay, thinking he could handle the Rangers on his own. Megahorn was at first angry at Black Lance, telling the fellow Terror that he could handle it himself, but Black Lance told Megahorn that he was sent by Sculpin and they would fight the Rangers together. Megahorn agreed and was now glad, saying that two Terrors are better than one.

Megahorn fought and attacked the Solar Streak Megazord, while Black Lance battled the Manticore Megazord. Black Lance was sent back to the Underworld by Leanbow and Daggeron continued fighting Megahorn in the Solar Streak Megazord. Then by holding Megahorn in place, the Manticore Megazord had the perfect opportunity to strike the back of Megahorn's neck with the Legend Striker Spin Attack, weakening him enough for Daggeron to finally finish him off by using the Furnace Blast to suck Megahorn in the Megazord's engine and destroy him, making him the fourth Terror to be destroyed, and the third Terror to be destroyed by the Power Rangers.

Although Megahorn never got along very well with the other Terrors, they weren't shocked that the Mystic Rangers were able to defeat him, because they believe he deserved the defeat. Tvicon TV STORY-The Snow Prince

Personality[]

Of the Ten Terrors, Megahorn is the one of the least willing to obey the rules. He is cold, highly ruthless, disobedient, and is the most short-tempered of the ten. He is also supremely arrogant, thinking that no one will defeat him, though he is shown to be good friends with Serpentina.

Forms[]

Powers and Abilities[]

Powers[]

  • Teleportation: Megahorn can teleport to any location at will.
  • Size Changing: Megahorn can change his size from human size to giant at will.
    • Earthquake: Megahorn's enlargement briefly caused the ground to shake, nearly knocking the Rangers over.
  • Extendable Neck and Wings: Megahorn can extend his neck and wings for an increase in power which he did when he grew for the first time against Daggeron.
  • Optic Blast: Megahorn can fire yellow energy blasts from his eyes.
  • Lightning Vision: Megahorn can also fire yellow lightning beams from his eyes.
  • Energy Balls: Megahorn can fire black and purple colored energy balls from his hands strong enough to take down and nearly kill Daggeron.
  • Flamethrower: Megahorn can also launch a stream of red-orange colored flames from his hands which was the exact match for the Snow Prince's ice stream attack.
  • Mouth Fireballs: Megahorn can shoot powerful red-orange colored fireballs from his mouth. These were his strongest attacks since they are powerful enough to take down and rip apart the Manticore Megazord in one hit as well as rip apart the Mystic Dragon and Mystic Phoenix with one hit, taking the Rangers straight out of their Ranger forms.
  • Lizard Lasers: Megahorn's signature attack where he fires a stream of green-blue flames with purple lightning surrounding it from his mouth which was powerful enough to take down and tear apart the Solar Streak Megazord with just one blast.

Abilities[]

  • Strength: As like the other Ten Terrors, Megahorn is one of the strongest opponents the Mystic Rangers had faced, overpowering all six Rangers and the Snow Prince easily and keeping a grip on his sword despite Daggeron trying to jump-punch it out of his hand.
    • Headbutt: Megahorn was able to send Daggeron flying across the battlefield with a single headbutt.
  • Bone Armor: Megahorn possesses bone-like armor equipped with what appear to be dragon skulls. The armor is extremely durable and can withstand powerful hits and blows from Daggeron's Laser Lamp, the Manticore Megazord's Legend Striker Spin Attack, the fireball kick from the Mystic Sprite Ball Mode, the Legend Warriors' United Formation with the Snow Prince aiding them, and not even get a scratch. The area at the back of his neck, however, is his weak spot and will cause him great pain if attacked there and leave him weakened to the point where he can be harmed by attacks that would normally have no effect on him.
    • Energy Deflection: With his bone armor, Megahorn can deflect an energy-based attack back at the enemy which includes laser blasts from the Laser Lamp and the fireball finisher from the Mystic Dragon.
  • Flight: Megahorn can fly at high speed thanks to the wings behind his back.
  • Extraordinary Jumper: Megahorn can jump high into the air, being able to jump as high as Daggeron did to slash him down during his final battle.

Weaknesses[]

  • Back of Neck: Megahorn can be harmed by getting hit in the back of his neck.

Arsenal[]

  • Dragon Tail Sword: Megahorn is equipped with a large sword shaped like a dragon's tail that aids him in combat.
    • Shock Wave: Megahorn can cause a huge shock wave by swinging his sword which was strong enough to halt the Solar Streak Megazord with one hit.
    • Energy Empowerment: Megahorn can charge up his sword with blue or green energy for an increase in power.
      • Dimension Collapsing: By charging up his sword, Megahorn can force himself and others out of dimensions by stabbing the energized blade tip into the ground. He did this to escape the Snow Prince's ice dimension.
    • Lightning Beam: Megahorn can also fire green lightning beams from his sword which originally failed to harm the Snow Prince but later took him and all five present Rangers down with one shot.
    • Electric Fireballs: Megahorn can also shoot green colored fireballs with purple-pink or red colored electricity from his sword and even make them larger to increase their power.
  • Claws: Even without weapons, Megahorn can use his clawed hands for combat.

Powers and Abilities[]

Powers[]

  • Flame Empowerment: Megahorn can charge himself with green fire for an increase in power.
  • Mouth Fireballs: Megahorn can spew out red-orange fireballs from his mouth like before in his original form, but they are stronger since they were able to take out the Manticore Megazord.

Abilities[]

  • Strength: Megahorn is now ten times stronger than before.
  • Bone Armor: Megahorn's bone armor has become more durable, allowing him to take even more hits.
    • Energy Deflection: Megahorn can deflect energy-based attacks with his bone armor like before.
  • Flight: Megahorn retains his ability to fly like before.

Weaknesses[]

  • Back of Neck: Megahorn can be harmed by getting hit in the back of his neck like in his normal form.

Arsenal[]

  • Claws: Megahorn retains his clawed hands for combat.

Notes[]

  • Megahorn is among the most durable enemies in all of Power Rangers with only Goldgoyle being more durable since he was able to take on every single Megazord finisher throwing at him and not even moaning in pain with only one hard-to-hit weak spot which is the back of his neck.
  • Megahorn's method of blocking the Snow Prince's snow stream is very similar to how Harry Potter and Voldemort's magical streams match in the Harry Potter movies.
  • Megahorn is very similar to Olympius, the secondary antagonist of Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue.
    • Both are themed after a dragon.
    • Both have fire-based abilities.
    • Both have argent and ruthless personalities.
    • Both villains' powered up forms are very similar.
  • He is the last monster to be beaten by the Solar Streak Megazord, as well as the only Terror to be beaten by it.
  • Along with Serpentina, he has two forms.
