- "Listen! Life is a series of obstacles, it's not a question of can we manage them, but how."
- ―Master Swoop[src]
Master Swoop is a Pai Zhuq master who possesses the Spirit of the Bat, able to assume a stronger anthropomorphic bat form.
History[]
Early Life[]
Swoop was RJ's mentor and taught him to fight without the aid of sight. Though blind, Swoop manages to see things further than they really are, he learned to channel his Bat Animal Spirit while using a fan as a weapon. According to Swoop, he also learned a lot during his time teaching RJ. TV STORY-Blind Leading the Blind
Jungle Fury[]
Teaching Theo[]
Following the return of Bai Lai and Carden, the bodyguards of the Overlord Carnisoar, Master Swoop travels to Jungle Karma Pizza and infiltrates the base of the Jungle Fury Rangers to talk to his former student RJ. He tells RJ that one of his Rangers, Theo, is not focused and will try to help him. Swoop takes Theo to the woods in order to teach him the techniques of the Bat, claiming that he needs to concentrate on one thing at a time.
Swoop tried to make Theo use the fan and float above a lake like he's able to do, but Theo fails constantly, which leads the young Ranger to feel very frustrated. When Theo mentions that he can't change who he is, Swoop tells him that he doesn't need to change completely, but only make small adjustments to be focused on the moment instead of thinking about other things. After their talk, Theo managed to successfully float above the lake. After this, Theo was not only able to use a Jungle Fan while in Ranger form, but also was able to call upon Master Swoop's Bat Animal Spirit. TV STORY-Blind Leading the Blind
The Spirit Ranger[]
After Dai Shi brought back the Phantom Beasts, he makes them prove themselves by capturing three Pai Zhuq Masters. Master Swoop was later seen training until he hear from a distance the arrival of Scorch, who managed to capture him after a fierce battle.
Swoop, along his fellow masters Finn and Phant, were taken inside the Temple of the Dai Shi and taken as prisoners. Master Swoop tried to convince Jarrod to fight the evil Dai Shi that was using him as a vessel, but his attempts were futile as the Phantom Beasts used the Crystal Eyes to turn their animal spirits into Rangers. TV STORY-Fear and the Phantoms
He was freed by RJ and the Bat Spirit Ranger now fights with the other Rangers when summoned by either Theo or Master Swoop.
By the end of the series, he took part in the final battle along with his fellow Masters and was present when the Rangers destroyed Dai Shi once and for all.
