"Lepus!"
―Lepus's roll call when she was introduced alongside the other Phantom Beasts and her first lines.[src]

Lepus was a Phantom Beast Warrior who held the spirit of the rabbit mixed with a pixie, and was the only female member of the Phantom Beasts.

She serves as a supporting antagonist of the episodes "Fear and the Phantoms", "One Last Second Chance", and later on serves as the main antagonist of the episode "To Earn Your Stripes", the fourth-part of the six-part endgame saga, and a minor antagonist of the final episode "Now the Final Fury", excluding the two minor monsters, Lepus serves as the final monster of Power Rangers Jungle Fury.

History[]

Lepus was one of the armies of the Phantom Beast Warriors and the only female among them. She used the battle style of the Rabbit and held the spirit of the Pixie. During the first Beast War, Lepus fought, alongside her allies against the Pai Zhuq Academy and Dai Shi Clan and was destroyed along with other Phantom Beasts. However, the Crystal Eyes, that possessed the power to resurrect them, were left behind.

In "Fear and the Phantoms", Jellica used the Crystal Eyes and revived the Phantom Beasts and ordered them to serve her and help her destroy Dai Shi. But Scorch, Snapper, and Whiger betrayed and destroyed her and joined Dai Shi. Lepus was summoned by Scorch along with the other Phantom Beast Warriors. They promised to serve Dai Shi. In "One Last Second Chance", Camille approached Lepus, Sonimax, and Osiris and asked them if they could give her some of their Rinzin Power. They thought she was kidding and declined her offer. Tvicon TV STORY-One Last Second Chance

In "To Earn Your Stripes", Scorch and Snapper sent Lepus, Sonimax, and Osiris to eliminate Camille, as they decided she is the last tie in Jarrod's humanity and must be eliminated for Dai Shi's sake.

Lepus, Sonimax and Osiris ambushed Camille and overwhelmed her, but Jarrod arrived, who temporarily regained control over his body. He destroyed Sonimax and Osiris, but Lepus escaped.

Then Lepus attacked Casey, because she thought if she will defeat the Red Ranger, she would prove her loyalty and earn Dai Shi's mercy. Lepus battled Casey and he used the Strike Rider against her. Then, the other Power Rangers arrived and helped Casey. Scorch and Snapper also arrived and fought the Spirit Rangers, while the Jungle Fury Rangers battled Lepus. Lepus was badly hurt by the Claw Cannon, Wolf Beam and Rhino Blade.

She then grew and battled the Rangers' Zords. She managed to fly up into the air after being stabbed and flung into the air by the Rhino Steel Zord but was taken down by the combined finisher of the Jungle Master Zords and the Wolf Zord performed its Wolf Zord Spin Fury attack to cripplingly weaken her. At this point, the Rangers summoned their other Zords and Lepus was destroyed by the Animal Spirit Stampede's Final Strike. Tvicon TV STORY-To Earn Your Stripes

In the final battle, Lepus was revived by Dai Shi, but was destroyed for good by Master Guin. Tvicon TV STORY-Now the Final Fury

Notes[]

  • Lepus can be seen as an ironic final Monster-Of-The-Week in the Power Rangers series, as all final monster from previous entries and even later shows have imitating appearance and design, Lepus is more simple, as she is theme after a pixie and a rabbit, the formal of which represents kindness and peace, and latter in that rabbits are very peaceful and friendly animals.
  • As the final Phantom Beast standing after the destruction of Osiris and Sonimax, Lepus is the final regular monster in Power Rangers Jungle Fury
    • The remaining two episodes had the remaining Phantom Beast Generals as enemies and the only monsters in the finale were past monsters the Rangers had already fought.
  • Lepus is the only Beast to be theme on both an Animal Spirit and a mythological creature spirit.
