Karan Ashley is an American actress who played Aisha Campbell in Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers in Season 2-3 between 1994 and 1995. She also reprised her role as an alternate universe version of the character in Power Rangers Hyperforce.

Biography[]

Karan Ashley was born in Odessa, Texas. During her music career, she was part of a R&B girl group called "K.R.U.S.H."

Career on Power Rangers[]

Ashley first heard of Power Rangers through an ad in a newspaper and didn't even know anything of the franchise until she was literally in line for the audition and got a crash-course from someone else in line. From there, she got a call back and was asked to replace the late Thuy Trang (as Trini Kwan) as the Yellow Ranger and reprised her role as Aisha in the 1995 film.

By early 1996, Ashley decided to leave because she decided she could not handle the production scheduling. Ashley was promised 10 episodes but it was eventually downgraded to two due to needing to extend the Zeo Crystal retrieval saga. She was written off the show because her character moved to Africa and was replaced by Nakia Burrise's Tanya Sloan as the Yellow Ranger.

As with her co-star Steve Cardenas, Ashley was also contacted to reprise the role of Aisha for Power Rangers Super Megaforce, but turned it down due to being offered low pay. The low pay was because it would have been a very minor appearance. Had she appeared, Aisha would have been the Mighty Morphin' Yellow Ranger due to Thuy's death 13 years earlier.[1]
