- For the original TV version of this character, see Goldar.
Goldar serves Lord Zedd and Rita Repulsa, but when Ivan Ooze overthrows them, he and Mordant switch sides almost automatically after Ooze traps both Rita and Zedd in a snowglobe, depriving them of the their powers.
Goldar stands by Ivan Ooze's side as he enacts his plans. But once he sees the Rangers return with their new powers, he decides it's time to fly off.
At the very end, Rita and Zedd are not pleased with him as he had taken over their palace after Ivan Ooze was killed, calling himself King Goldar.
Differences from the TV show
Goldar has a less lengthy face than in the TV show, and appears more feline than canine. Despite always being seen with his golden sword in the series, the sword is absent here, though that may be because it was in Toei's possession. He also is much more comical and somewhat friendly, as at one point Ivan and Goldar high-five each other.
Notes
- This movie marks the only time other than "Day of the Dumpster" that Goldar is seen to fly using his wings.
