Furry Warts are a furred ball-like soot settling in the roof of Xandred's Junk. They attempt to be annoying by descending from the ceiling of the ship's interior and repeating people's words while giggling.

Appearance[]

The Furry Warts appear to be covered with yellow soot/fur except for their faces. They have black faces and bright red eyes which. They are often found attached to yellow strings as they descend from the ceiling. Nearly every Furry Wart has a different expression.

History[]

The Furry Warts in Xandred's ship are revealed to have been partial to Dayu, as some time after Dayu defected, when Master Xandred kicks one off into a gap to the 'real world' it lands near her and tells her in fully spoken English that it has missed her. This one Furry Wart becomes Dayu's companion. This Furry Wart is still able to tell Dayu what is happening on the ship, despite neither of them being on it at the time. After Dayu's death, this Furry Wart sorrowfully calls her name, and is later crushed underfoot by Master Xandred.

Master Xandred once tried to teach the Furry Warts to mimic Dayu's Harmonium song, which failed to occur.

Personality[]

The Furry Warts are all known and seem to have the same instinct to repeat and annoy Nighloks (especially Octoroo and Xandred). However, they can commonly be seen with different expressions (Mostly happy, sneaky or scared). It is unclear whether they are evil or pose as any sort of threat like other Nighloks as the rangers do not seem to be aware of them. Despite being referred to as 'pets' constantly by Octoroo, they are clearly intelligent as they seem to be aware of how annoying they are. They're also shown to be quite afraid of Xandred as they retreat back to the ceiling after he grabs one of them from it.

The Furry Warts are hinted to be very close to Dayu, as the one cast away by Xandred said that it has missed her and the pair are shown to have a special bond during their wanders away from the Netherworld, also when Xandred absorbed Dayu the Furry Wart sadly grieves her death, indicating this bond. Furry Warts are also hinted to be a hivemind as this Furry Wart could tell Dayu about Xandred's medicine not curing his headaches despite not being their, but since the other Furry Warts were taunting him about it before, it is likely the Furry Wart was able to know from the others this could also explain why they all behave alike.

Notes[]

  • Two types of Furry Warts appear in Power Rangers Samurai SMASH!, where they float in-game. Orange Furry Warts are common, and left unattended bite the Rangers. Yellow Furry Warts have red eyes like the TV versions and float straight across the screen in threes or in pairs. These Furry Warts explode on impact and damage the Ranger. Some Yellow Furry Warts also act as obstacles the Ranger simply must go around and cannot be attacked.
