The Rangers attend herbology class. Rocky makes the mistake of using experimental seeds, resulting in a metal-eating plant. Skull steals part of it for his project. King Mondo takes them and turns them into monsters. Rocky is sprayed by their pollen, which causes him to turn into a goofy plant-human hybrid.

Plot[]

Rocky and Adam attends a herbology class at the Angel Grove Junior Botanical Society Greenhouse. Rocky has been experimenting his plant. Adam ask what kind of seeds Rocky use to grow his plant. Rocky explains he found a couple bags in the lab to make this plant, demonstrates how his plant responds by feeding it a paper clip and ate it. Adam subdues that Rocky's strange plant is attracted to metal. Rocky finds it great but Adam is not so sure about it. Bulk and Skull attends the same class as Rocky and Adam, Skull was sadden that his plant died. Rocky was wondering how his plant grows his plant perfectly, Adam suggested he should give a sample to Alpha. Rocky said the exact same thing and cut a piece of his plant to take it to the Power Chamber. Both Adam and Rocky left, leaving their plant behind. Skull notices Rocky's plant seeing how huge it looks. The plant looks at Bulk's police badge and try to eat it off of him. After eating a piece of Bulk's badge, it started to grow vines. Bulk and Skull struggled with Rocky's plant but manage to take a flower from it and replace Skull's dead flower with the other one from the creature-like plant.

At the Royal House of Gadgetry, King Mondo, impress about the metal eating plant Rocky created would give him an advantage. He sends his son Sprocket to retrieve it.

Meanwhile, Lt. Stone shows up, startling Bulk and Skull that he was looking for the duo. He says to the two that key to good flora is nutrition and assigned them to a place to get good food. They left the Greenhouse.

After Lt. Stone leads Bulk and Skull where they're going, Rocky and Adam returned from the Power Chamber to check on their plant to see how much it grown. Sprocket and a few Cogs show up. Adam demanded to know what Sprocket wants or is he just visiting? Sprocket claims he wanted to say "hi" to his "friends" but the two Rangers are not buying it. But it was a distraction as they witness seeing the other Cogs stealing their plant including Bulk and Skull's and the Ranger duo morphed. The Green and Blue Zeo Rangers did their best but the Cogs got away with the plants. Fearing what Mondo would do to the plants in his hand, Adam suggest that he and Rocky should return to the Power Chamber. Rocky agrees and wonders if Alpha is done with the test results on Rocky's plant.

Elsewhere, Lt. Stone brought Bulk and Skull to "Manure City". Lt. Stone shows the duo his plants and ask them to get a bucket with "High Octane Black Gold" in it right behind them. Bulk and Skull got the bucket but told the Lieutenant that it's empty. Lt. Stones tells them that there's a big bucket of Black Gold at the top shelf. Skull climbs on a ladder to retrieve the big bucket much to his fear of heights. Skull clumsily fell off the ladder, safely landed on a pile of dirt bags but accidentally drop the big bucket of the special dirt onto Lt. Stone. Bulk was relieved that Skull's okay. Stone got an emergency call about the two plants the Cogs stole. Skull realize that his plant has been stolen. Bulk tells Lt. Stone, he and Skull are on the job to get them back much to Lt. Stone's chagrin.

At the Machine Moon Base, King Mondo succeeded in creating Pollenator & Adrian from the stolen plants. Pollenator asked Mondo when are he and Adrian gonna have, Mondo ordered them to defeat the Power Rangers first and ordered the duo to go to Earth.

At the Power Chamber, all five Rangers arrived, Rocky ask Alpha if there is any results on his plant. Alpha explains that according to the test results, Rocky has created a very unusual hybrid that will not only continue to grow in size but also in strength indefinitely. Adam also tells the others that Skull planted a branch from Rocky's plant in his pot, it too would also grow as quickly. Zordon agrees with Adam's theory. Fearing that with the two plants in Mondo's hands, the Rangers are gonna have a serious situation on their hands. Tanya says she doesn't understand what does King Mondo want with them. Kat explains to her that if Mondo gains control of those plants, the Rangers will be up against a powerful enemy. Rocky sarcastically says there's something to look forward to. Tommy looks up the data and says that the plant constantly has to eat in order to stay strong. Adam remembers that Rocky's plant eats metal and the alarm went off. Alpha informs the Rangers that Pollenator & Adrian are at the Angel Grove Auto Wrecking yard. Zordon inform the Rangers with caution that there is no telling on what King Mondo has done with those plants. The Rangers morph into action.

The Zeo Rangers arrived at the junk yard. Pollinator is surprise that they're early. Tommy however, says they're here just in time. The Rangers and the plant duo battle. Pollinator held his own against the Pink and Green Zeo Rangers. The Blue Zeo Ranger got the jump on Adrian but the plant monster toss him aside. The other Rangers came to Rocky's aid. The Rangers use their Zeo Laser Pistols but the evil plant duo reflected the blast right back at the Rangers. Adrian suggest that they should hit the Rangers with their pollen. Pollenator however, tells Adrian they should have some fun first. As he jumped on Adrians shoulder and blast at the Rangers with his mouth. Now Pollenator tells Adrian to use his pollen on the Rangers. When Adrian was about to do his attack, he slipped on his cousin by mistake. Believing Adrian did it on purpose, Pollenator knock his cousin flat. At the Machine Moon Base, seeing what is happening, Mondo was not happy that the plant duo are fighting each other instead of the Rangers. Mondo forcibly teleports Pollenator & Adrian back to him much to the Rangers confusion.

As Pollenator & Adrian are teleported back to the Machine Moon Base against their will, they demanded to Mondo why he brought them back here. Mondo angrily scolded them for fighting each other instead of the Rangers. Mondo tells Pollenator to go back down to Earth alone this time.

Back on Earth, Rocky still felt that his stolen plant is his responsibility, trying to figure out how to reverse the growth. Rocky decides to head to the library. Adam says good luck to Rocky if he finds anything and Adam left.

While Rocky was heading for the library, Pollenator without Adrian shows up, wanting to thank Rocky for creating him before battling him. Rocky morphs in to Zeo Ranger III and battled Pollenator. The plant monster infected the Blue Ranger with his pollen. Rocky begs Zordon to teleport him to the Power Chamber and Rocky was teleported away.

Elsewere while riding their patrol bike, Bulk and Skull left a trail of metal junk to lure Skull's stolen plant to them. They even left a "Free Lunch" sign on their bike. The duo disguise themselves as a bush to hide.

At the Power Chamber, the other Rangers teleported here, wanting to know what's happened to Rocky. Alpha worryingly tells them that Rocky has been attacked by Pollenator. Zordon informs the Rangers that Pollenator's pollen spores are taking over the cells in Rocky's body slowly turning him into a plant at an alarming rate. Rocky started acting weird while under the pollen spore's influence calling his friends the "Chowder Rangers". He even mistakes Kat's hair for leaves. Feeling weirded out, Kat begs Alpha to quickly find a cure for Rocky.

Back the Skybase, Mondo tells Pollenator to lure the rest of the Rangers out rather than him go and find them himself.

At the Power Chamber, Rocky is laid down as they're about to try an experiment when the alarm sounds, alerting the Rangers that Pollenator is back in the city. Zordon warns them that Pollinator has just eaten and will be at full strength.

They morph and go on the attack, only to be forced back. The battle is mostly one-sided, but the Rangers do get some hits in.

Back at the Power Chamber, Alpha is unsure what to do about the almost-mutated Rocky, when Rocky manages to say he needs pure oxygen, which is a simple solution since plants need carbon dioxide to breathe and grow and pure oxygen is the reverse. Alpha sprays Rocky with pure oxygen, then a little more at the request of Zordon. It works and a grateful Rocky is restored to normal. Zordon sends him back into battle with the knowledge on how to beat Pollenator. He thanks them before morphing yet again.

Rocky quickly tells everyone what to do, so they program the Zeo laser pistols to output pure oxygen and blast Pollenator, who is immediately destroyed.

Back at the greenhouse, Adam apologizes to Rocky about his plant. Rocky has a new plan involving basil and pesto, stating the only thing these will ruin is pasta. They are then alerted to Bulk and Skull hiding in plants rather than being plants themselves. They are not amused that Rocky and Adam almost blew their stakeout. Rocky and Adam go away so as not to disturb the "professionals". All Bulk and Skull find is the gardener weed whacking who isn't impressed and leaves it to them. The episode ends with Bulk and Skull fighting over the weed whacker.
