Chogokin style figures, also commonly referred to as Popy Sentai figures (both terms used in lieu of an official term) are slim, blocky, consistent figures that represent many Ranger teams, until the scale and style started to seem outdated. The term 'Chogokin' is used to refer to anything die-cast and the 'Chogokin' label is seen in every one of the individual figures. The term Chogokin 'style' is used because there are also lightweight full plastic versions of these figures (labeled Pladela プラデラ), usually accompanying vehicles.

The Chogokin style had its roots in J.A.K.Q. Dengekitai figures, but truly began with Denshi Sentai Denziman, consistently going forward. The last full team that retained the style is Seijuu Sentai Gingaman, as by Mirai Sentai Timeranger, while they had a set of figures that were similar to the look, the sculpts were more muscled.

Predecessors[]

Goranger[]

The predecesor of the main sculpt that had blockier deisgns.

JAKQ[]

The predecesor of the main sculpt that had even leaner deisgns.

  • Die-cast (chogokin) figures were released in windowed boxes. These included their capsules which fit the figure both in the original and Victorer rerelease.
  • Plastic (pladela) figures were released with the vehicles in windowed boxes.
  • No White Ranger (Big One) figure was released.

Battle Fever J[]

  • No figures of this sort were made for the Battle Fever J line.

Denziman[]

  • Die-cast (chogokin) figures were released in windowed and windowless boxes. No accessories were included.
  • No pladela figures were released as fixed figures came with the vehicles.

Sun Vulcan[]

  • Die-cast (chogokin) figures were released in window-less boxes. No accessories were included.
  • No pladela figures were released as fixed figures came with the vehicles.

Goggle Five[]

  • Die-cast (chogokin) figures were released in window-less boxes. No accessories were included.
  • No pladela figures were released as fixed figures came with the vehicles.

Dynaman[]

  • Die-cast (chogokin) figures were released in window-less boxes. No accessories were included.
  • No pladela figures were released as fixed figures came with the vehicles.

Bioman[]

  • Die-cast (chogokin) figures were released in window-less boxes. Sidearms (guns) were included.
  • No pladela figures were released as fixed figures came with the vehicles.

Changeman[]

  • Die-cast (chogokin) figures were released in window-less boxes. Sidearms (guns) were included.
  • No pladela figures were released as fixed figures came with the vehicles.

Flashman[]

  • Die-cast (chogokin) figures were released in window-less boxes. Sidearms (guns) were included.
  • No pladela figures were released as fixed figures came with the vehicles.

Maskman[]

  • Die-cast (chogokin) figures were released in window-less boxes. Sidearms (guns) were included.
  • No pladela figures were released as basic vinyl figures came with the vehicles.
  • No Green Ranger (X1 Mask) figure was released.

Liveman[]

  • Die-cast (chogokin) figures were released in windowed boxes. Sidearms (guns) were included.
  • Plastic (pladela) figures were released with the bikes in windowed boxes.
  • All were remarketed outside Japan as Bioman 3 Liveman figures and vehicles.

Turboranger[]

  • Die-cast (chogokin) figures were released in windowed boxes. Sidearms (guns) were included.
  • Plastic (pladela) figures were released with the bikes in windowed boxes.

Fiveman[]

  • Die-cast (chogokin) figures were released in windowed boxes. Sidearms (guns) were included.
  • Plastic (pladela) figures were released with the bikes in windowed boxes.

Jetman[]

  • Die-cast (chogokin) figures were released in windowed boxes. Sidearms (guns and swords) were included, as well as wings.
  • Plastic (pladela) figures were released with the bikes and car in windowed boxes. Sidearms (guns and swords) were included, as well as wings.

Zyuranger/Mighty Morphin[]

  • For Zyuranger, die-cast (chogokin) figures were released in windowed boxes. Sidearms (dagger mode) were included. Green Ranger had his own removable armor and sidearm. Unlike the Mighty Morphin figures, their glove and boots were embellished with the right designs.
  • For Zyuranger, plastic (pladela) figures were not included with the bikes.
  • For Mighty Mophin, plastic figures were released in clamshells. These were for all the core Rangers, as well as Green Ranger. Their sidearms differ from the Zyuranger versions, as they were in gun mode. Also all of them had their individual weapons, which could combine. Green Ranger was also different. He had no armor and his suit design matched the other Rangers.
  • For Mighty Morphin, Red, Blue and Black Rangers were released as diecast figures. The rest were not. They were in window boxes.
  • For Mighty Morphin all bikes had plastic versions of the figures- whoever's color is the bikes. For season 2's Thunder Bikes and season 3's Shark Cycles, versions were made which either had or didn't have the coin design on their chests.

Dairanger/Mighty Morphin White Ranger[]

  • For Dairanger, die-cast (chogokin) figures of all six Rangers were released in window-less boxes. Sidearms (daggers) were included.
  • For Dairanger, plastic (pladela) figures of the core five Rangers were released with the bikes in windowed boxes. Sidearms (guns, sword and rod) were included.
  • For Mighty Morphin White Ranger had season 3's Shark Cycle. The White Ranger figure had a belt buckle that was more like the Mighty Morphin style. While other smaller toys exist for the White Thunder Bike, the main vehicle size one was not released.

Kakuranger/Mighty Morphin Alien Rangers[]

  • For Kakuranger, die-cast (chogokin) figures of all five Rangers were released in window-less boxes. Sidearms (gun and swords) were included.
  • For Kakuranger, plastic (pladela) figures of the core five Rangers were released with the bikes in windowed boxes. Sidearms (gun and swords) were included. This is the first time that sidecars have full figures, totaling two figures per bike with sidecar.
  • For Mighty Morphin, plastic (pladela) figures of the core five Rangers were released with the bikes in windowed boxes. Sidearms (gun and swords) were included. Oddly Blue Ranger was released with a basic blue color instead of the correct sky blue.

Ohranger/Zeo[]

  • For Ohranger, no die-cast (chogokin) figures were made. In its place Auto-Morphin Figures were released.
  • For Ohranger, plastic (pladela) figures of the core five Rangers were released with the bikes in windowed boxes. Sidearms (gun and swords) were included. Red and Black (Gold) were released with team cannons each.
  • For Zeo, plastic (pladela) figures of the core five Rangers were released with the bikes in windowed boxes. Sidearms (gun and swords) were included.

Carranger/Turbo[]

  • For Carranger, no die-cast (chogokin) figures were made. In its place Super Big Pose Series 8-inch were released.
  • For Carranger, plastic (pladela) figures of the core five Rangers were released with their large power weapons in windowed boxes. Sidearms (gun and swords) were included. These weapons combine for the team cannon. Note that while figures are usually pictured with the cars (referred to as speeders), they are not sold together.
  • For Turbo, plastic (pladela) figures of the core five Rangers were released with the cars (referred to as Turbo Carts) in windowed boxes. Sidearms (gun and swords) were included.

Megaranger/In Space[]

  • For Megaranger, die-cast (chogokin) figures in the same scale were NOT released. Rather smaller chogoki ones were made but in metallic chrome paint for all Rangers. These are often mistaken as part of the line.
  • For Megaranger, plastic (pladela) figures of the core five Rangers were released with their sliders in windowed boxes. Sidearms (guns) were included.
  • For In Space, plastic (pladela) figures of all the core Rangers and a (non-metallic) Silver were released with the slider vehicles and bikes in windowed boxes. Sidearms (guns) were included. A chrome Silver was also released with a rover.

Gingaman[]

  • For Gingaman, no die-cast (chogokin) figures were made. In its place muscled action figures were released.
  • For Gingaman, plastic (pladela) figures of the core five Rangers were released with their horses in windowed boxes. Sidearms (swords) were included. No Bull Black toy was released in this scale.
  • For Lost Galaxy, no figures were made as muscled figures accompanied the vehicles.

Modern Releases[]

GoGo Five[]

  • For GoGo Five, no die-cast (chogokin) figures were made. In fact there was no actual main figure line, despite the usual sofubis and vehicle toys.
  • For GoGo Five, plastic (pladela) figures of the core five Rangers were released with their rescue vehicles in windowed boxes. Sidearms (swords) were included. Male sculpts have different builds than female.
  • For Lightspeed Rescue, no figures were made as muscled figures accompanied the vehicles.

Timeranger[]

  • For Timeranger, figures were made for all six Rangers. Sidearms and individual weapons were included. They could form team cannon when combined. The figures helmets lit up with a button press.
  • For Time Force, no figures were made.
