Rising From Ashes is the tenth episode of Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue. It is the second and last part of a two-parter, which features the debut of the Supertrain Megazord.

Synopsis[]

Queen Bansheera resurrects two monsters from the past and gives them great power. When the Lightspeed Megazord is not enough, the Rangers must summon Ms. Fairweather's newest creation - the Supertrain Megazord.

Plot[]

After the events with Trifire and Mount Jasmine, Ms. Fairweather and her crew are busy working on something regarding the Supertrain, having just completed it to amazement and cheers at a job well done.

At Skull Cavern, Queen Bansheera reveals she's set her plan to destroy Mariner Bay in motion as she is reviving Magmavore from the ashes, as Magmavore himself chuckles wickedly as he arises.

Back in the Aquabase, Joel is looking for Ms. Fairweather when he finds her and learns she and some of her crew are heading up to Mount Jasmine to check the damage from earlier with Trifire. Seeing her too busy talking with her assistants for him to try and hook up a date or dinner with her, Joel turns and walks away defeated, with Ms. Fairweather taking notice and becoming concerned about Joel's well-being because he can't find some private time to talk with her.

Some time later, Ms. Fairweather and her two assistants are at Mount Jasmine and begin scanning the area for seismic activity. Seeing them snooping around, the Demons are wary, and Bansheera signals Magamvore that it is time to awaken, as Magmavore chuckles evilly.

As Ms. Fairweather transmits her readings back to Captain Mitchell and the Aquabase, Magmavore makes his move. The cave Ms. Fairweather and her aides are in begins to rumble, and soon the transmission is cut off. Unable to re-establish contact, Mitchell orders the Aquabase to Alert Status and sounds the alarm. The Rangers deploy in the Rail Rescues and head to the area, while Ms. Fairweather and her aides try to escape the cave and back into the open. However, when the male aide is knocked over and wounded, Ms. Fairweather helps him back to his feet and outside to join the female aide before the cave entrance is buried by a rockslide, trapping Ms. Fairweather inside.

The Rangers arrive shortly thereafter in the Lightspeed Megazord, but are soon confronted by Magmavore, who proves to be a bigger threat this time when he easily breaks the Lightspeed Megazord Saber in two with his club, to both Carter and Mitchell's shock and disbelief. Things go from bad to worse when Bansheera then orders the resurrection of Trifire as well, and Magmavore accomplishes that with ease. However, Bansheera overexerts herself and needs to retire for the moment to recuperate, but warns Diabolico not to fail her, or she'll replace him with Impus.

Back with the Rangers, outnumbered two to one against both Magmavore and Trifire, they are soon overpowered and the Megazord is depleted of energy. Mitchell is unable to raise Ms. Fairweather on the comms, and when the Megazord goes down, Mitchell has no choice but to order the Rangers to evacuate the Lightspeed Megazord and find Ms. Fairweather as the Aquabase has lost all contact with her. Hearing Ms. Fairweather is in trouble, Joel is ready to assist in a heartbeat. Back in Skull Cavern, Diabolico commends Magmavore and Trifire on a job well done and orders them back to their resting place while Mount Jasmine finishes off Mariner Bay. Complying with the order, the two fire Demons withdraw for the time being.

Meanwhile, the Rangers locate the Rescue Rover, but find no sign of Ms. Fairweather until her two wounded aides limp out from behind a rock outcropping. After the aides explain what happened to Ms. Fairweather, the camp is attacked by Batlings. The Rangers and aides fend them off, while Joel splits off to the cave, blasting his way in to recover Ms. Fairweather. Once he helps her back to her feet, they head back to the main camp, where the Rangers have finished off the last of the Batlings and loaded Ms. Fairweather's aides into the backseat of the Rescue Rover. Having recovered some of her strength, Ms. Fairweather climbs into the driver's seat of the Rescue Rover as she tells the Rangers to get back to the Lightspeed Megazord as reserve power should be online by now, and she has a plan to stop Magmavore, Trifire, and Mount Jasmine, but the Rangers need to buy her some time while she heads back to the Aquabase. Joel agrees, and while the Rangers head back to the Megazord, Ms. Fairweather drives the Rescue Rover, with lights blazing and siren wailing, back to the Aquabase.

The Rangers deal with some Batlings before reaching the Megazord, but just as they get it back topside, Magmavore and Trifire reappear, ready for another round of pounding the Megazord to pieces. However, the Rangers buy Ms. Fairweather enough time to get the Rescue Rover back to the Aquabase, where she orders her crew to get the Supertrain Program online immediately. Mitchell enters to see what's going on, and Ms. Fairweather explains what she is doing as she begins to transform the Supertrain cockpit into its Megazord formation. Once complete, Mitchell orders the Rescue Bay to the surface. Meanwhile, the Rangers continue to take a pounding from Magmavore and Trifire as they stall for time, until the Supertrain arrives, at which point, Ms. Fairweather and Mitchell order them to break down the Lightspeed Megazord and withdraw back to the Supertrain. Once the Rescue Zords have returned to the Rail Rescues, the Rangers man the modified cockpit, start the Supertrain up, and as it advances down the tracks, a large launch ramp appears ahead. Activating the thrusters to full power, the Supertrain launches into the air, and as it soars over the city, Ms. Fairweather activates the Supertrain Megazord transformation. Once complete, the Supertrain touches back down to face Magmavore and Trifire, revealing to be at least twice, if not three times their size.

However, when Carter hits the fire button for the Supertrain's Gatling cannon and missile launcher, the Rangers are electrocuted by a massive power feedback. It causes a power overload back in the Aquabase, but Ms. Fairweather orders it to be maintained lest they lose their advantage. The Gatling cannon and missile launcher unleash their fury on Trifire, and he is obliterated in short order. However, Carter reports the power surge back to Ms. Fairweather and Mitchell, and Ms. Fairweather realizes using the Gatling cannon and missile launcher again would be too risky if another overload happens and fries the mainframe. After some thought, and encouragement from Mitchell, Ms. Fairweather has the Rangers switch the power source for the weapons to the turbines instead, moving the Gatling cannon and missile launcher to over the Supertrain Megazord's fists. Unfortunately, this causes another power overload when the Gatling cannon whirs up again, but Ms. Fairweather orders the power increased to compensate. With the added power increase, the Gatling cannon and missile launcher is able to destroy Magmavore, but before the Rangers, Ms. Fairweather, and Mitchell can celebrate, Magmavore's energy causes Mount Jasmine to erupt, threatening Mariner Bay. Luckily, Ms. Fairweather reveals the Supertrain is armed with freeze missiles as well, and has the Rangers use them to stop Mount Jasmine, freezing the volcano solid and sending it back into slumber, stopping the eruption, and saving Mariner Bay, leading to cheers and celebration among Ms. Fairweather's staff at the Aquabase as the Supertrain Megazord stands triumphant.

Some time later, Joel is back in his quarters, still sulking over being unable to get a date with Ms. Fairweather, when there's a knock at his door. It is revealed to be Ms. Fairweather, wanting to thank Joel for saving her life, and offering him a dinner date that night in the Aquabase Galley with her. His spirits lifted, Joel is soon suited up and ready for his dinner date, but when he reaches the Galley and opens the door, much to his disappointment, the other Rangers are there waiting for him with Ms. Fairweather. Ms. Fairweather apologizes for if Joel thought it would just be the two of them, but as Joel accepts he got his hopes up for nothing and is about to turn and go back to his quarters in heartbreak, Ms. Fairweather and the other Rangers convince him to stay and enjoy himself anyway.
