The Queen's Return is the nineteenth episode of Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue. It is the conclusion of the Titanium Ranger story arc and the three-episode story arc which features the return of Queen Bansheera and the departure of Ryan Mitchell.

Synopsis[]

The demons perform a ritual to return Queen Bansheera to her bodily form. Led by the demon Spellbinder, Bansheera starts to take form in the skies. The Lightspeed Rangers interrupt the ceremony, but only enough to bring back the Queen in a deformed state, for which Olympius swears vengeance. Ryan leaves the team to search for a way to defeat the demons once and for all.

Plot[]

As prothesized, the planets begin to align, signaling the arrival of Queen Bansheera. With this knowledge, Vypra tells Jinxer to begin setting up the ceremony in Mariner Bay, though she and Loki secretly plan on making themselves look good over Olympius. Spellbinder has the Batlings set up the ceremonial blocks in the warehouse to create a temple as Loki declares himself the operation leader. When Olympius tries to object, Loki puts the young prince in his place and banishes him to the Skull Cavern for the ritual. Olympius swears that Loki and Vypra do not mess the ceremony up before leaving with Jinxer.

Meanwhile, Carter and Joel drive around Mariner Bay only to see a black cloud forming. Chad and Kelsey see the cloud as well and the four return to the Aquabase for answers. Ms. Fairweather sees the alignment, and Ryan realizes that demons will initiate the ceremony to bring back Queen Bansheera. If it works, then Mariner Bay is doomed. Captain Mitchell says they cannot let that happen.

As Spellbinder initiates the ceremony, the cloud grows bigger as destructive lightning destroys buildings. As the Rangers head out to the Rescue Zords, Ryan notices that the clouds are forming a pattern. The main Rangers race in the Rail Rescues and go into the Rescue Zords to save civilians. While Chad and Joel put out the fires, Dana clears the highways, and Carter and Kelsey look for civilians in the buildings. Meanwhile, Ryan finds the main intersection to where the ceremony is and heads out to stop Spellbinder.

Ryan finds the warehouse where the ceremony is held, only to get attacked from behind by Vypra. After getting tossed around, Ryan gets captured by the Batlings. Meanwhile, Carter and Kelsey finish rescuing civilians as Captain Mitchell tells them what Ryan is doing. However, Ryan cannot contact them as Spellbinder throws his staff into the center of the temple. A yellow beam of energy rises out as the planets continue to align. Carter sees the beam and realizes that’s where the ceremony and Ryan are.

The Rangers go to the site and confront the Demons. As the Rangers fight Loki, Vypra, and the Batlings, Carter rescues Ryan from captivity. Ryan morphs into the Titanium Ranger to take on the Batlings as Carter sets his sights on Spellbinder. The demon sorcerer proves to be too much for Carter, but Ryan manages to save his friend. Once Carter gets back on his feet, he blasts at Spellbinder with the V-Lancer. However, there is no time for rest as Spellbinder comes back to life and grows into a giant. Spellbinder continues the ceremony as Ryan summons the Max Solarzord and transforms it into Warrior Mode. With the Lightspeed Megazord joining the fight, the six Rangers attack Spellbinder but are overwhelmed by the sorcerer. Carter uses the Lightspeed Megazord Saber against Spellbinder, but the latter catches the attack and strikes against the Megazord.

With the battle not going well, the Rangers combine the Zords to form the Lightspeed Solarzord. The clouds continue to darken as Queen Bansheera makes her presence known. The Demons are in awe of the arrival of their queen as Spellbinder tanks the Solarzord’s blasters. Queen Bansheera sends a tidal wave to destroy Mariner Bay, which also risks destroying the Aquabase if it hits them. Ryan decides to stop the energy wave at the temple, leaving the Lightspeed Solarzord and returning to the warehouse. Ryan inches his way to the crystal ball and destroys it with the Titanium Axe, stopping the ceremony and weakening Spellbinder. The tidal wave disappears as the planets go back to their normal orbit, Olympius fearing that Bansheera died. The Rangers fear that Ryan perished as well when he disrupted the ceremony, but Carter had them focus back on Spellbinder. They destroy Spellbinder with their cannons.

Back at the warehouse, Olympius blames Loki and Vypra for wasting their only chance of bringing back Queen Bansheera. Loki again attempts to assert his authority over Olympius, but this time the demon prince is having none of it and knocks Loki off his feet. Before Olympius can destroy the two, he sees that Bansheera survived the disrupted ceremony, but is now only half-formed and barely mobile. Queen Bansheera says she is in this state thanks to the Rangers and Olympius swears to make them pay. As the Demons leave, Ryan crawls out of the rubble and reunites with the team, who are relieved to see him alive.

At the Aquabase, Ryan explains that although Queen Bansheera does not have her full body back, her power will continue to grow. Ryan fears that no matter how many weapons Lightspeed creates, Queen Bansheera could destroy all of Mariner Bay. However, there is a way to stop her; Ryan says the Demons were imprisoned years ago, and there could be a way to seal them again. Ryan says he is going to leave and find out a way to reseal the Demons alone. While the other Rangers want to join him, Ryan says they must protect Mariner Bay. Ryan says goodbye to the team and his family, promising that he will be back.

Errors[]

  • When Ryan jumps out of the Lightspeed Solarzord it’s clear and sunny, even though it was completely dark.
  • When Ryan stops the ceremony, the Lightspeed Solarzord already appears to be in final attack mode. Yet moments later its not, until the others finish off Spellbinder.

Notes[]

  • It's very hard to understand Spellbinder's incantation, due to his words being distorted. Luckily the Closed Captioning will show exactly what he's saying.
  • This marks the final time Ryan pilots the Max Solarzord. It is also the last time he appears morphed until the finale.
