Umbrella Monster (コウモリ怪人 Kōmori Kaijin, 1) was the first Egos monster.
History[]
As with all Egos Monsters, the Umbrella Monster is created by Satan Egos in his Monster-Making Capsule and sent to Tokyo in a human form. Serving as the predecessor to an invasion, the Umbrella Monster is sent to kill high ranking police officers using the poison tip of her red umbrella and leave Tokyo an easy target for conquering. In response to the murders, General Kurama Tetsuzan of the National Defense Ministry founds Battle Fever to combat the Secret Society Egos. Released yet again to fight the Battle Fever, she is destroyed using the Penta Force Cannon.

The Umbrella Monster was an almost silent and ruthless operative relentless in her mission to kill police officials and Battle Fever J.

- Scythe: The Umbrella Monster wielded a scythe as her main weapon.
- Umbrella: The Umbrella Monster wielded a red umbrella in her human form. It could shoot a blade from the end which was laced with potassium cyanide and would kill anyone stabbed by it in seconds.

Portrayal[]
- The Umbrella Monster was played by Eri Kanuma (who previously played Yoko Katou in Himitsu Sentai Gorenger) in her human form and was voiced in her true form by longtime Super Sentai voice actor Teiji Ōmiya.
Design[]
- Umbrella Monster was designed by character designer Muneo Kubo. She wears red and blue colored robes, her most distinctive feature was her mask, which had an obvious Maya design, with two large flaps acting as ears. On the mask was a human looking face.
Etymology[]
- His name came from the word "koumorigasa" (蝙蝠傘 kōmorigasa), which means "umbrella". This word also contained the kanji for "bat" (蝙蝠 kōmori), alluding to his other motif.
