History

Past

A Terror Toad was used by Rita ten thousand years ago on Sorcery 7 to great effect.

Mighty Morphin

After Baboo's Punk Potion turns Kimberly and Billy into bullies, Finster creates the Terror Toad for Rita due to their success with him on Sorcery 7. Rita then sends the Terror Toad down to Earth to attack Angel Grove. In response, the Power Rangers are sent by Zordon to deal with the threat, but only Jason, Zack, and Trini are able to fight him. The Rangers' attacks prove ineffective against the Terror Toad as their Blade Blasters do no damage and energy blasts reflect back at them, and their kicks rebound harmlessly. He soon knocks down Zack, Jason and Trini in succession with heavy blows from his clawed flippers, after which he fires an energy tongue from his horn at Trini. The beam wraps around her waist and transforms her into a yellow energy sphere which he then swallows, and a picture of the Yellow Mighty Morphin Power Ranger's helmet appears on his belly. Jason and Zack continue to fight the toad but are overwhelmed, their Power Weapons also proving ineffectual. The Terror Toad again strikes down the Rangers in turn, and Zack is soon consumed just as Trini was, leaving Jason to fight him alone.

Once Billy and Kimberly are cured of the punk potion, they are instructed by Zordon to cut off the Terror Toad's horn and attack its weak spot right below its neck. The two then join Jason in the battle against the Terror Toad, managing to cut off Terror Toad's horn with the Blade Blaster and making him furious. In retaliation, the Terror Toad grabs Jason with his real tongue, pulls him into his mouth, and swallows him whole. As the Terror Toad swallows Jason, Kimberly notices strange markings on his neck that indicate his weak spot. Billy then tries to attack him, leaping into the air but Terror Toad catches him in mid-air with his physical tongue, pulls him into his mouth, and swallows him as well. Left alone to fight the toad, Kimberly prepares to fire an arrow from her Power Bow but is knocked down by Baboo. The Terror Toad joins Baboo and the two begin to approach her but Kimberly immediately fires three arrows into the Terror Toad's neck. The Terror Toad falls to the ground and regurgitates four energy spheres which reform into the four swallowed Rangers. The Rangers quickly regroup then launch a final assault, each landing a devastating attack against the toad. Kimberly then delivers the final blow by firing an arrow into his mouth, mortally wounding him as he is obliterated in an explosion.

Personality

The Terror Toad was a ravenous and cruel creature, taking great delight in his task of battling and devouring the Power Rangers, and would continuously mock and taunt the Rangers as he swallowed them one by one. He was also extremely gluttonous by showing how much he enjoyed eating the Rangers, especially when they turned into energy spheres. He was also prone to anger as seen when he gives a furious outburst before devouring Jason when Billy and Kimberly cut off his horn. Like most of Rita Repulsa's monsters, he was loyal to her and co-operated with her other minion Baboo to nearly defeat the Rangers.
