Full Acceleration to Hellish Lightning (雷地獄へフルアクセル Ikazuchi Jigoku e Furuakuseru) is the fourteenth episode of Gekisou Sentai Carranger.
Synopsis[]
A ritual by Zelmoda to surpass the speed limit of his bike to obtain a legendary power (using a fuel additive Minoru sold him) forces both the Bowzock warrior and Green Racer to face their respective fears of lightning.
Plot[]
At the 1996 Go-Kart Racing Championship, Minoru is trying to offer the racers a special speed supplement that will give explosive power and increase speed by a million percent from merely one drop for one-million yen each, but is being ignored. When he offers two for a million yen, he finally gets an offer...from Zelmoda, making him try to run away but the Bowzock officer forces him to explain himself, Minoru claiming that it's just a ten percent increase that feels like "a million percent". He asks if he'll buy it, but Zelmoda states he will since he needs to "break the speed barrier", confusing Minoru as he sells them to him. Zelmoda offers his hands as dimes pour out of his vase, confusing Minoru that this is how he's being paid for this and chases after him.
Charging up his bike with Minoru's supplement, Zelmoda claims he will break the speed barrier as he starts riding on the roads, driving as fast as he can as Green Racer starts pursuing with his Speeder Machine until Signalman suddenly rides by yelling at him to follow the traffic rules for the speeding violation! Minoru states he's trying to stop Zelmoda from breaking the speed barrier, which even Signalman acknowledges is a recipe for disaster and the Ranger races away.
On the Baribarian, Grotch notices Zelmoda's strange enthusiasm all of a sudden as Gynamo realizes what he's doing and states he's going after "the Bakibaki Legend"; when Zonnette asks what that is, Gynamo states that in the universe, there is a speed barrier not broken and when it's broken, the one who does so will become a hero with unbelievable super powers! Gynamo realizes that now that Signalman has entered the fray, Zelmoda is risking his life to gain that power to challenge obtaining it!
Zelmoda keeps racing for the speed barrier as he accelerates his bike, speeding up until a strange storm emerges, creating thunder and lightning and making him cower from the thunder! Signalman and Green Racer reach him as the officer wonders what happens, Minoru claiming that the Bowzock officer is just afraid of him. But without warning, lightning strikes down making even Green Racer fearful; Signalman realizes Zelmoda's fear of the thunderstorm without seeing the Ranger as the Wumpers appear to attack him in response. Signalman offers Green Racer a reward to help him out, but Minoru cowers as he reveals his own fear of lightning as it strikes down and makes both him and Zelmoda go crazy! Signalman goes to arrest him but Minoru cowers holding the officer down allowing Zelmoda to escape and forcing them to push back.
At Pegasus, Dappu and the Carranger scornfully look at Minoru as Natsumi confronts him for his lightning fear; Minoru states he has a tragic story about it, revealing he kept fishing as a child during a lightning storm, catching something but becoming electrocuted as he got an eel, making him fearful ever since. Naoki states they're the Carranger and that they're a team, but Minoru states Zelmoda was scared too but the others try to prevent him from changing the subject. Dappu wonders why Zelmoda was challenging the Bakibaki Legend.
On the Baribarian, Zelmoda reveals he made fun of lightning as a boy to Gynamo, cartwheeling around on a distant planet and revealing his bellybutton towards it, making it electrocuted in the process and giving him the fear of lightning. Gynamo states it doesn't come that often, but Zelmoda states that if he challenges the speed record, he will cause air turbulence which guarantees the creation of lightning! He mourns how close he was to the speed barrier and that he can't challenge the Bakibaki Legend, calling himself a loser. Gynamo states he will, but Zelmoda states he can't as the leader of the Bowzock; but Gynamo states they're a team dead or alive, revealing their partnership through the years and, as a two-man team, they will make their flag fly through the universe. Gynamo states he can't let Zelmoda take risks al the time, Zelmoda stating he is thankful for his care, but then punches him out stating this is his mission as he storms back to Earth to do it for his boss.
Zelmoda begins to race around to increase speed as lightning crashes, making him state he isn't scared as he continues to speed his bike to beyond the speed barrier, causing a red light to flash by him and a powerful red warrior to appear. The being calls himself Elekinta and thanks Zelmoda for breaking the speed barrier and deserves to be granted the power of lightning, snapping his fingers as he turns his bike into a new form, giving him the "legendary power". The Carranger soon arrive as Zelmoda states they're too late and he's obtained the legendary power; Elekinta states they'll show that power off. The duo start riding around the Carranger, pushing them down as they use the Bakibaki Rolling Thunder to constrict the team; then the Bakibaki Cross Thunder to throw them down, making Green Racer further scared! Using Bakibaki Big Thunder, the Rangers are further attacked, knocking Red and Blue Racer down.
Natsumi and Youko drag Minoru away asking if he's really going to abandon his teammates, but Green Racer states he can't stand lightning. Dappu appears giving Minoru a pot telling him to put his hands in, revealing it to be an eel. The eel electrocutes Minoru, the alien revealing it as an electric eel from the Amazon made to make him get over his fear of lightning, making Green Racer run away and making the situation worse. As Red and Blue Racer keep falling down, Signalman appears stating he has a "traffic safety amulet" to protect him as well as and Anti-Thunder amulet, but the combo attack isn't enough and even he falls. As Minoru continues to cower, he smells food revealed to be something Dappu was cooking; Green Racer devours it without restraint as Dappu reveals that he's eating the electric eel from earlier! Dappu states that since he ate electric eel, he won't be affected by thunder or lightning, but Minoru cowers and Natsumi and Youko chastise Dappu for trying to pull this stunt. However, Minoru suddenly shudders as he states "he is fearless", asking what the other Carranger are doing and charges out as he transforms with the female Carranger.
Minoru and the females charge towards their teammates and Signalman as the team tries to prepares to attack, Minoru being charged up in particular; Zelmoda asks if they can withstand their legendary lightning attack as Green Racer states it's nothing. They try Bakibaki Cross Thunder but it doesn't work due to Minoru eating electric eel, making him use his Naniwa Kick to hit Zelmoda. Elekinta charges towards him but Green Racer catches his bike by the wheel and lifts it up before throwing it into Zelmoda, shocking the team by his sudden strength. Stating he's not done, Elekinta fuses the two bikes together and fuses with them, becoming a giant without any imo youkan. Signalman states he can't grow without permission as he summons Sirender to force him to pay attention to the rules, firing the Signal Flash and then transforming into battle mode. Elekinta attacks with his two electric batons but Sirender resists with ease; Sirender fires the Wappagun and restrains him but is shocked before he can use the Siren Dagger on it. But the Carranger soon race to the rescue with RV Robo; Elekinta fires electricity towards them but Green Racer tells them to be strong as they use their Gekisou Cut and Sirender's Siren Vulcan to destroy Elekinta, forcing Zelmoda to retreat.
At the BB Saloon, Zelmoda curses his defeat as Gynamo appears; the general states it curses him but the leader states they'll keep fighting with both of their power against the Carranger and Signalman, reaffirming their partnership.
Later, Minoru decides to treat the others at Pegasus Garage to "Eclectic Eels"; Naoki wonders if it's OK since it's not payday but he says don't worry about money and eat them for the power until Youko confronts him for the bill, being 75,000 Yen for the electric eels he ate; Natsumi tells him that it's due to being electric but Minoru states he never ordered them as Dappu tries to sneak away; the alien rushes off as Minoru wonders if he's the one stuck with the bill and he cries for the others to help him.
