Utter Despair! We Are Outcasts!? (絶望! 俺たちは嫌われ者!? Zetsubō! Oretachi wa Kiraware Mono) is the forty-ninth episode of Denji Sentai Megaranger. This is the first episode of Megaranger's three-episode endgame arc, involving the team's exposure of identity to the entirety of Moroboshi High School and the subsequent fallout. It also features the destruction of DigiTank.
Synopsis[]
Moroboshi High becomes exposed to attack when intentionally targeted by Hinelar for the Megaranger, leading to their expulsion.
Plot[]
After Hinelar discovered the Megaranger's real identities, he launched a new plan to defeat them. At the Moroboshi High School, Gen Ooiwa told all students in his class, including the Megarangers, that the graduation ceremony will occur in the next few days. He hoped that no one would be abducted by Nezirejia again as they could gather together for the first time since Hinelar City's scheme. Erina suggested that all girls in the class hold the commemorative event. During the class discussion about the event, Hinelar's plan is put into motion. A student came in and attacked Kenta before revealing to the class that Kenta is MegaRed. That student reveals himself to be Hell Nezilar who took his duty to expose the heroes' identities.
The Megarangers stared at Hell Nezilar in front of the classroom and refrained from transforming to keep their secret. However, Ooiwa intervened and tried to help his student by attacking the monster only to be knocked out instead. As a result, all five students moved to the front area before transforming in public eye. During the fight, Hell Nezilar blasted the energy to students at the window which made Jirou be injured. Later, MegaSilver came to help Megarangers so that Hell Nezilar retreated, but not before stating that he will destroy everything related to them. As the Megrangers realized that the monster would go to harm all of their families, they rushed out from the school in front of many students' eyes. Kenta and Yuusaku ran to Kenta's home which was destroyed. Shougo, who was at the scene before, told Kenta that Professor Kubota ordered INET to send messages to all the Megaranger's family before moving them to INET's lunar base, so their families were safe, but not Kenta's home.
After Hell Nezilar's attack at Moroboshi High, Shigeki Takatora, the school's principal, came into the class and told everyone that Megarangers had to be held responsible for Nezirejia's invasion and harm against Ooiwa and Jirou. Therefore, he decided to expel them from the school. Erina tried to defend them but her explanation was rejected by Kurosawa who sided with the principal. Shintarou also stepped in and blamed them for Jirou's harm, too. As a result, all five students left the school and started to doubt why they became Megarangers. Yuusaku brought them to the warehouse and tried to cheer them up but they were in depression and lost their faith in themselves, especially Kenta, who threw away his Digitizer and expressed his intention to quit.
Meanwhile, Professor Kubota felt remorse on five students' fate and decided to clean up the problem himself. He came to the Earth with DigiTank before challenging Dr. Hinelar and deal with him so that Nezirejia's high leader could seek revenge without making trouble to others. However, Kubota found Shibolena and Yugande instead. After Shibolena was attacking him, Kubota cried out that he would defeat Hinelar even if he was just a human, the race Hinelar always despised. Feeling insulted, Hinelar ordered Kubota's execution.
At the warehouse, Hell Nezilar and Kunekunes begin their attack to eliminate Megarangers. Yuusaku fought back Kunekunes before transforming to MegaSilver. When he was fighting the monster, he requested the other Megarangers to transform and fight for themselves, but Kenta refused. When the monster started to target the Megarangers, MegaSilver defended all five of them before striking back with Silver Blazer. Being weakened, he taught the Megarangers that they must protect who they cared even if those did not want to. After that, Shougo contacted MegaSilver that Kubota went out to fight himself which surprised Kouichiro and Kenta. While Kubota was driving DigiTank and launching his attack against Shibolena and Yugande, MegaSilver gave back Kenta his Digitaizer and told him that he and Kubota had something in common.
After Hell Nezilar recovered from the attack and returned, MegaSilver declared that he would fight to protect the Megarangers who were important to him. Then, he rushed to fight but was beaten back by the monster. Being overpowered, he urged the team to reconsider who actually made them under crisis and also what was important to them so that they could not lose. After seeing MegaSilver was beaten, the Megrangers reconsidered quitting. Then, Kenta summarized that the root cause of their crisis was indeed Nezirejia. Regaining their faith, Megarangers transformed and fought back.
Outside the warehouse, Kubota could not defeat Shibolena and Yugande. He decided to jump out from critically damaged DigiTank before it exploded. However, the Megarangers saved Kubota just in time. Then, MegaRed drop kicked Yugande and MegaBlack punched Shibolena before the team went to protect Kubota. Both men also apologized Kubota for losing their faith in themselves. MegaSilver joined in as he was able to gain the upper hand on Hell Nezilar. After that, the five core Megarangers used their weapons to weaken the monster while MegaSilver successfully hit both of Hinelar's commanders. Later, MegaRed defeated Hell Nezilar with Battlerizer 03 mode's Super Drill Sniper Custom so Shibolena and Yugande retreated. As Bibidebi intervened to increase Hell Nezilar's size, MegaRed called out for Mega Voyager. After fighting the monster in Mega Voyager, the Megarangers defeated Hell Nezilar with the Voyager Spartan. While Kubota was pleased and proud with the team, the furious Hinelar vowed to defeat the heroes at all costs.
Yuusaku brought Megarangers to the old warehouse to be their temporary base during their final fight against Nezirejia. Kenta complained why Yuusaku chose such a place, but he countered that they had to stay here as they did not want to live at INET lunar base. Kouichiro then encouraged everyone to eliminate Nezirejia as soon as possible which Chisato agreed with. Then, Yuusaku told all of them to explore inside the warehouse so Kenta moved out the broken door and all others went inside. Suddenly, the girls began screaming upon seeing a cockroach. The men inside called out for Kenta, but he closed the door and left there.
