Dragon Shield

The Dragon Shield was the shield that protected the Green Power Ranger. The shield had the ability to assist the wearer in regaining health and strength, and when empowered by the Dragon Dagger, it would glow brightly and, temporarily make the Green Ranger invincible.[1]
When Tommy Oliver was cut off from Rita Repulsa's evil spell, he joined the Power Rangers and fought alongside them. Throughout this, he was able to empower Jason Lee Scott, the Red Ranger, and Zack Taylor, the Black Ranger, with the Dragon Shield for protection and the like.[2][3]
When the Green Candle melted away, Tommy was forced to give up his Power Coin to prevent it from going back to Repulsa. He gave it to Jason, who then became entrusted and empowered with the abilities of the Green Ranger, including the Dragon Shield.[4] Jason used the Dragonzord powers, which included the use of the Dragon Dagger, Shield and Dragonzord, a few times.
When Tommy was able to return as the Green Ranger for a time being, he once again regained the protection of the Dragon Shield.[5] His powers eventually permanently dissipated,[6] ending the use of the Dragon Shield forever.
The Dragon Shield reappeared when a clone of the Green Ranger was made, and again when Tommy dreamt of a fight between himself and three of his former Ranger incarnations, the Green Ranger, the White Ranger and the Red Zeo Ranger.
The Dragon Shield would be the most recognizable way to tell the difference between the Japanese footage and American footage, as in Zyuranger footage the shield was made of hard foam or rubber, while in MMPR footage, it was made of shiny polyester. The rubber shield was used in an American episode when Tommy fought the Green Ranger in his dream.
