Is its own self contained series. Has no ties to other Sentai series, apart from the occaisional crossover. Is a continuation of the first and second Mighty Morphin Power Rangers seasons. Is later succeeded by Power Rangers Zeo.

The team starts with five Rangers. Extra Hero Ninjaman joins halfway. There is no official sixth Ranger in this team as Ninjaman is considered an Extra Hero.

The same team of rangers stays throughout the whole series. The Pink Ranger is replaced. Later the rangers are temporarily replaced by the Alien Rangers of Aquitar.

They also have acces to alternate ninja suits and powers, but these are not considered full morphs. The alien rangers use ninja inspired Ranger forms, but the ninja aspect is downlplayed.
The leader is a woman. The main team is led by a man.
White ranger is a female. White ranger is a male, but it is an existing suit from Dairanger.
Their first mecha are the humanoid Giant Beast Generals. Their first mecha are the animal Ninjazords.
Villains are outright serious and are pawns of Daimaou, the main villain of the series. Villains are comedic and bumbly, and are not pawns of Lord Zedd nor Master Vile, the main villains of the series.
