Lead by an experienced adventurer with a traumatic past. Lead by a boy who is revealed to be an android until he becomes human in the end.
Fights multiple factions including an ancient warlord, a dragonoid who has abandoned humanity, a squad of ninjas and a civilization that evolved into demon-like beings. Fights multiple factions including two warring brothers, a squad of ninjas and a race of feline aliens.
All of Boukenger's villains are serious with some being incompetent and serving as the comic relief villain. Most of Operation Overdrive's villains are serious and darkest.
First Super Sentai series to be broadcast in high definition and widescreen for the future. Has still had standard definition and smaller screen.

Though the show would later be broadcast in high definition and widescreen starting from Power Rangers Samurai, an adaptation of the 33rd Super Sentai, Samurai Sentai Shinkenger, which had aired 3 years after Boukenger.
