Jin Matoba/Garouki
Skelerena

Differences[]

Jin Matoba/Garouki Skelerena
A main villain lasting for several episodes. Monster of the week, lasting only one episode.
First appeared in the 26th episode. Appeared in the 30th episode and not the same episode as the Beamcaster.
Spent most of his time as a human and was only forcibly transformed into a skeletal wolf like monster named Garouki near the end of the series. Never was or even posed as a human and only appeared in his monster form.
Not an actual member of the Gorma Tribe but was affiliated with Major Zydos. Monster in the Lord Zedd era of the Evil Space Aliens.
Turned against the Gorma Tribe since he disliked being someone's lackey. Never showed any tendency or reason to turn against the Evil Space Aliens.
Born like a normal human (presumably). Created from a hyena picture on the cover of a magazine at the Angel Grove Youth Center that Shawn has been using to write a paper.
Human martial artist who kills other martial artists in hopes of finding the ultimate challenge. Later infused with dark Gorma powers by Major Zydos. Hyena monster artificially created from a picture of a hyena in a magazine. His purpose was simply to destroy the Power Rangers.
Goroki was a mindless Gorma Minion serving under Major Zydos. Skelerena did not serve a specific member of the Evil Space Aliens aside from Lord Zedd but was used to indirectly aid Goldar.
Had a rivalry with RyuuRanger, the red ranger of Dairanger, since he felt Ryuuranger was the challenge he sought for. Never had a particular rivalry with any of the Rangers though the episode was focused on Adam.
Never summoned Cotpotros due to only even working for the Gorma as a completely feral monster. Summoned Putties to aid him in battle.
Missions varied but Garoki was used to try and kill the Dairangers. Was sent to preoccupy the Power Rangers with Putties so that Goldar could destroy Adam's confidence with the Mirror of Regret.
Acted very much like an animal as Garouki, showing no sentience or capability of speech whatsoever. Showed sentience and the ability to talk.
Mindless and violent when ordered to attack. Fun loving and spent a lot of time cackling like a demented clown.
Mortally wounded by the Super Qi-Power Bazooka and last seen fighting Cotpotros where he was presumed killed after the foot solders gunned him down. However, he later turned up alive to motivate RyuuRanger after Master Kaku stripped the Dairangers of thier powers. Obliterated by the Power Cannon in an instant.
Presumably still alive somewhere in the world. Dead.
