The Chrono Morphers were created by the crime fighting unit of the future, Time Force. These morphers could imprint the DNA of the wearer so that only the person in question, or someone with similar DNA, such as a blood relative, can use them. The Chrono Morpher can also display holographic images, such as when communicating with a fellow Ranger.
These morphers could be locked so that if one was inactive, the others were as well. Initially the first Red Time Force Ranger's, Alex, Chrono Morpher needed to be reactivated by his ancestor Wes in order for the others to work. They were small devices that were much more sleek and futuristic looking than most other morphers, and were activated by the touch of a button. These morphers, along with the Quantum Morpher, were the first wrist morphers to be integrated as a part of the Rangers' morphed form.
The morphers also contain the Rangers' arsenal, perhaps hiding the items in a pocket dimension.
The Time Force Rangers can morph by saying "Time for Time Force!” They press the button on their Chrono Morphers. A DNA strand is fired off and merges with his/her body. Their body (except his/her head) is covered in a bright color light, as they're surrounded by an endless tunnel of colored digital data. The DNA strand (which features all five colors within it) breaks up by a lightning strike of any color, releasing energy particles into his/her body. They emerge fully morphed as Time Force Power Rangers!
- Chrono is a prefix that means "relating to time", an obvious reference to the Time Force Rangers name and their ability to travel through time. It's derived from Chronos, the personification of time in pre-Socratic philosophy.
