Bryan Cranston (born March 7, 1956) is an American actor, voice actor, writer, and director who provided the voices of Snizzard and Twin Man during the first season of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. He is best known today for his roles as Hal on Malcolm in the Middle and Walter White/Heisenberg on Breaking Bad.
Cranston grew up in Los Angeles, California and got his start in local and regional theater, getting his start at Granada Theatre in the San Fernando Valley. He has worked regularly since the 1980s, including in advertisements for Lay's potato chips, Excedrin, Honda Accord, and Coffee-Mate. He was an original cast member of the soap opera Loving and costarred in the short-lived series Raising Miranda in 1988.
Prior to being cast on Malcolm in the Middle, Cranston's largest role was as Buzz Aldrin in the HBO series From the Earth to the Moon. He also had recurring roles on Seinfeld and King of Queens and made guest appearances on Hill Street Blues, Matlock, Touched by an Angel, Baywatch, L.A. Law, Jake and the Fatman, Sabrina the Teenage Witch, The Flash, The X-Files, and Babylon 5.
Since Malcolm, Cranston has also made guest appearances on Family Guy and How I Met Your Mother, and made appearances in Fallen, Little Miss Sunshine, Love Ranch, and Red Tails.
In addition to Power Rangers, Cranston's voice acting work has included the animes Royal Space Force - The Wings of Honneamise, Street Fighter II: The Animated Movie, Macross Plus, and Armitage III Polymatrix, as well as Clerks: The Animated Series. When dubbing anime, Cranston often used the screen name "Lee Stone".
Cranston has been nominated numerous times for Emmys and Oscars for his roles on Malcolm in the Middle, Breaking Bad and Little Miss Sunshine, and won the Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series three years in a row and a single Golden Globe in 2014 for his role on Breaking Bad.
Cranston is married to actress Robin Dearden. The two have one daughter. His first wife was writer Mickey Middleton.
On June 21, 2016, it was announced that Cranston was cast in the role of Zordon in the 2017 Power Rangers movie. This fact (on October 26, 2016) was almost touched upon on This Morning by presenter Ben Shephard.
