Billy Cranston - The Blue Mighty Morphin' Power Ranger.
Billy Cranston is a student at Angel Grove High School. He attends school with his friends Jason, Kimberly, Trini, and Zack. They are a very close group. Billy is very smart and talks in a technical manner, which only Trini understands. Zack affectionately refers to Billy as "main brain". Billy is very interested in science and even became the president of the science fair committee. Bulk and Skull enjoy terrorizing Billy and referring to him as a geek or nerd. When not in school, Billy and his friends like to hang out at Ernie's Juice Bar.

Billy and his friends were chosen by Zordon to become Power Rangers. Rita Repulsa was accidentally released and was intent on conquering Earth. Besides Rita, there was Goldar, Baboo, Squatt, Scorpina, and the putty patrollers. Billy and his friends agreed to become Power Rangers and Billy became the Blue Mighty Morphin Power Ranger. Billy's quick thinking and numerous inventions saved the Power Ranger on several occasions.
Billy's young friends Willy is also very smart and interested in science. Willy had entered the Angel Grove Junior Science Fair. Billy had been helping him. Jason, Kimberly, Zack, and Trini joined Billy and Willy as they tested Willy project. It was an interactive game, glasses that you put on, that made you feel as if you were on a roller coaster. Billy, and his friends, help Willy carry his project to the science fair. On the way they were attacked by putties. Forming a circle around Willy, Billy and the rest of the Rangers were able to defeat the putties. They just made it in time for the science fair. Billy helped Willy set-up while his friends had a look around. Bulk and Skull came in and began making fun of all who were there. Bulk and Skull's antics angered Billy. He was surprised to see them there - wasn't an IQ required. Bulk and Skull threaten Billy, but he got the better of them. With Willy's help, Billy managed to get Bulk and Skull inside a makeover machine. When Bulk and Skull emerged they looked like girls and quickly left the room. Billy laughed along with his friends. But the professor in charge of the event, had no sense of humor. The professor disqualified Willy's project. Billy supported his friends by telling the professor that Willy had done nothing wrong, but the professor wouldn't bulge. Upset, Willy left the science fair. Billy understood how he felt and left to find Willy, along with Jason and Zack. Billy searched the park grounds, calling Willy's name. Kimberly and Trini had joined the group looking for Willy. Billy spotted Willy's cap on the ground. His friends quickly suspected that Rita had been behind Willy's appearance. Billy and his friends were proven right. Eye Guy had taken Willy for his intelligence and had him captive. Billy and the rest of the Rangers needed to battle Eye Guy - his main eye - in order to free Willy. Although it was difficult, Billy and the rest of the Rangers rescue Willy. After they had rescue Willy, Billy and his friends discreetly left and rejoined Willy as their teenage selves. They headed back to the science fair. Billy gave Willy his cap back. Billy was amazed to see the professor and Ernie with Willy's projects on their eyes - enjoying themselves immensely. The professor was astonished that Willy had design the project and offered him his apologies. The professor also gave Willy First Prize in the science fair. Willy was thrilled and Billy was proud of his young friend.
Billy enjoys roller-blading, basketball, broomball, horseback riding, participating in the oddball games, and volleyball.
Billy had been working on a device that could transfer people's thoughts. He invited Kimberly over to help him test it out. They got into the device, held hands, and turn the switch on. When the process was done, Billy step out and was surprised to see himself. Instead of transferring their thoughts, the device had transfer their bodies. The following day at school was a nightmare for Billy. He couldn't get the lipstick on right, and ended up smearing it all over his face. Billy, as Kimberly, was in a class and was selected to cook in front of the class. He may be able to come up with all kinds of inventions, but a cheese soufflé was beyond him. The cheese soufflé exploded onto the entire class. Things got worse when he discovered that Kimberly as Billy, messed up his decoding transmissions. He had to explain to Zack, Trini, and Jason that he and Kimberly were in each other's bodies. Zordon summoned them. Another monster was set upon Angel Grove. Billy, as the Pink Ranger, flew in Kimberly's zord. After the defeat the of the monster, Billy raced back to try and fix his mind transfer invention. He invited his friends back to his garage. Billy believe he had fixed the problem and was ready to test it out. Billy and Kimberly got back into the device and turned it on. It was with great relief, that Billy step out in his own body. Kimberly had been return to her body as well. Bulk and Skull walked in. Apparently they had been goofing around with Billy's invention and had their bodies switched as well. Billy was furious at first with them, but eventually decided to switch them back. Bulk and Skull entered the device and were switched back to their normal bodies. Skull called Billy over and asked him, if he could use Billy's mind for a math test. Billy just shook his head, some people will never learn.
Billy and Zack were busy polishing the Rad Bug - a car that Billy had modified. Jason was there as well. The guys were soon joined by Trini and Kimberly. The Rangers soon discovered that their communicators were not longer working. Billy and his friends took the Rad Bug to the Command Center. Inside the Command Center, Billy was stunned. It had been demolished, wires were hanging everywhere, Zordon was gone, and Alpha had a virus. Billy was able to remove Alpha's virus fairly quickly. But no one knew how this could happen. Billy and the rest of the Rangers had to morph. They were confounded to discovered an evil Green Ranger. Afterwards, Billy was kept very busy with Trini offering support. He worked on Alpha to get him up to full force. He managed to get the computers working and eventually fixed the communicators. Goldar was attacking the city. Billy and his friends were ready to morph, when everything went dark. The probe they had sent out to find Zordon was draining all the power from the morphing grid. It was frustrating to watch Goldar destroy and be unable to do anything about it. An idea came to Billy and he decided to try something. Removing a panel, Billy worked steadily on the wiring beneath it. He soon had the Command Center back in operation. The identity of the Green Ranger was reveal to Billy and his friends. It was Tommy - a new kid in school - under a spell by Rita. Billy and the rest of the Rangers destroyed the sword of darkness and release Tommy from the spell. Billy and the rest of the Rangers offered Tommy friendship and a place on the Power team. The Power Ranger were now six powerful members.
Billy is involved in various activities outside of school. He helped shut down a toxic waste dump, joined a clean-up club, helping animals find new homes. Billy was also involved in a chaperone program that took small children trick-or-treating.
Rita had a surprise for the Rangers. Rita had a green candle which contained the Green Ranger powers. Once the candle was burnt out, so would the Green Ranger powers be extinguished. The Rangers tries desperately to save Tommy's powers. Billy put together two molecular decoders that were capable of locating the dark dimension and allowing someone to enter it. Tommy had to stay behind, as the rest of the Rangers left to set up the molecular decoders. Jason entered the dimension. Meanwhile, Rita had unleashed a monster upon Angel Grove and Tommy went to fight it. As the battle worn, it was apparent that Tommy needed help. Zordon contacted the Rangers and notified them that they had to abandon the retrieve of the green candle and go help Tommy. Zack entered the dimension and brought Jason back with him. Neither Jason or Zack had the green candle with them. After the battle, Tommy began to lose his powers. In order to prevent Rita from obtaining the green powers, Tommy gave his power coin to Jason. Billy and the rest of the Rangers were saddened to see the end of the Green Ranger.
Jason, Trini, and Zack were preparing to go scuba diving. They had invited Billy to come along, but he declined. Billy had a fear of fish and no desire to go into any water. Instead Billy and Kimberly had a picnic by the lake. Kimberly questioned Billy about his fear of fish. Billy was rather embarrassed to tell Kimberly the story. When he had been a young boy, he had stuck his finger into the later attempting to create a whirlpool. A fish seeing the movement went after his finger and bite it. It terrified Billy. As he finished the story, Kimberly burst into laughter. Billy saw nothing funny about any of it. Kimberly and Billy were getting ready to see the others. As long as Billy didn't have to go into the water, he was happy. Plus the thought of chocolate, chocolate-chip ice cream afterwards put Billy in better spirits. But Billy and Kimberly never made it to their friends, they were attacked by putties. After Billy and Kimberly got rid of the putties, they were summoned to the Command Center. Rita had unleashed the Goo Fish monster where Trini, Zack, and Jason were. Billy and Kimberly went into action - as did Zack, Jason and Trini. Rita knew of Billy's fear of fish and placed a spell that intensified Billy's fear. The Blue Ranger found himself cowering and begging the Goo Fish to leave him alone. The Rangers teleported back to the Command Center. The Goo Fish was still on the loose. Billy needed to overcome his fear to break the spell. He had doubts that he could overcome a fear he had for such a long time. Billy didn't want to let his fellow Rangers down and went back into action to fight the Goo Fish. Billy became paralyzed with fear at the sight of the Goo Fish and at first he was unable to do anything except tremble in fear. In the back of Billy's mind, he knew what he had to do. Using every ounce of will power Billy faced the Goo Fish and broke the spell. His fear of fish was behind him, and he could enjoy things like fishing with Ernie.
Billy and his friends were in class with their small trees that they had grown. Billy was well aware of the concerns of the Rain Forest and the benefits of trees. He had developed a special fertilizer to help the trees along. The trees were now ready to be planted in a park. Billy and his friends left for the park and found a spot for their small trees. The planting went well and they left to get some water for the trees. When they return they spotted Squatt planting something in the ground. Before they could react, they were attacked by putties. Once Billy and the rest of the Rangers got rid of them, Squatt was gone. They teleported to the Command Center to let Zordon know what had occurred. The ground was shaking and it was obvious that Rita was up to something. Jason left to try and investigate what Squatt had buried. Meanwhile Zordon informed Billy, Zack, Trini, and Kimberly that Squatt had planted a monster of Rita's called Octoplant. The viewing globe revealed that the Octoplant had already had Jason in it's grips. Billy, Trini, Kimberly, and Zack morphed and went to the aid of Jason. They were able to eventually get rid of Octoplant. Back at school, Mr. Caplan was impressed with the work of Billy and his friends. Billy was proud of their trees as well and knew that they would provide beauty, shade, and clean air.
A huge science test was coming up. Billy thought using his Uncle's cabin in the mountains would be a great place to study. His friends agreed and they headed up to the mountains. Billy, Jason, Zack, Trini, and Kimberly studied hard and by the end of the session felt as though they had everything cover. They grabbed something to eat and then the guys went into their cabin, while the girls retreated to theirs. Billy and Jason sat down and watched Zack as he put on some music and began to dance. The mountain air had caused Billy to feel a bit mischievous and he causally grab a pillow. Holding it in his hands, he waited for the perfect opening and shot it at Zack. Soon a pillow fight broke out among the three. The day had gone well, but the night was a restless one for Billy. He had unsettling dream of when the Terror Toad had swallowed him. This dream was followed by one in which Zordon stripped Billy and the rest of the Rangers of their powers. Billy woke up with a gasp and sitting straight up in his bed. He noticed Zack and Jason sitting up in their beds as well. It was not an easy night for any of them. The following morning, Billy, Jason, and Zack went into the girl's cabin. Kimberly and Trini had also had unpleasant dreams and were as jumpy as Billy was. Billy felt like he could never face Rita's monsters again. The Rangers were contacted by Zordon who informed them that Rita was using the crystal of nightmares to upset them and have them lose their confidence. Although Billy and his friends did not want to confront Rita, Zordon teleported them to the location of a cave which contained the crystal of nightmares. The putties surrounding the entrance of the cave looked more menacing than usual. Billy and his friends fought them, but without their usual skill. Jason saw an opening and race inside the cave. Billy soon found himself knock aside and landed close to Trini. His heart was pounding anxiously and he seemed frozen to the spot he was standing. Then, a wave of confidence swept over him. He remembered Zordon's confidence in them all and the many times he had defeated Rita's various plans in the past. With a renewed sense of purpose, Billy quickly disposed of the putties. Back at Angel Grove High, Billy was pleased to see an A on his science exam.
Billy was involved in one of his inventions and lost track of time. He raced to the Youth Center where Parents Day was being held. When Billy got there, the place was a mess and no one was around. He walked around the place, trying to understand what had happened. A toxic gas crept up from the floors and made Billy cough and gag. Billy lost control of his mind, and now Rita was in control of Billy. Rita sent Billy to the Command Center to get the Dragon Dagger and return it to Goldar. Billy entered the Command Center, disable Alpha and soon had the Dragon Dagger in his possession. He left and entered Goldar's Dark Dimension. As Billy walked toward Goldar with the Dragon Dagger, the rest of the Rangers entered the Dark Dimension and tried to stop Billy. A fight erupted between Goldar and the rest of the Rangers. Billy was still under the spell and watched. Goldar grabbed the Dragon Dagger from Billy, and the spell broke. Billy was bewildered at what had happened and distressed over what he had done. The Rangers informed Billy that he had been under a spell and did not blame him for what had happened. Goldar had given the Rangers an ultimatum - the power coins for their parents. Dramole had uses gases and transported all the parents to another dimension. Billy and the rest of the Rangers did not give up their power coins without a fight, but in the end, there was nothing else they could do. Billy felt very guilty as he watched each of his friends give Goldar their power coin. He walked up last and gave his coin to Goldar. The power left his body immediately as it had did with his friends. The worse was yet to come. Goldar had no intention of releasing their parents and there wasn't anything they could do. Billy and the rest of the Rangers teleported back to the Command Center. They were upset with having trusted Goldar. Zordon reassured them that they had made the right decision. Jason also revealed that Goldar did not have all the power coins as he showed them Tommy's power coin. A plan went into action. Tommy was retrieved from the Youth Center and transported to the Command Center. There Tommy was filled in on what had happened. Zordon would use his own energy to restore Tommy's Green Ranger powers. The plan worked and Tommy was able to get the power coins back from Goldar. The Rangers were back in action - although Zordon had vanished. They defeated the Dramole monster and the parents were returned back to the Youth Center. Billy and his friends were distressed over Zordon. Soon they came up with a plan to restore Zordon by using their power coins and it worked. Zordon was returned, they had the Green Ranger back - although his green powers would always be temporary from this point on. Billy and the rest of the Rangers returned to the Youth Center to rejoice in their parents return and another victory.
Billy was stunned when Ms. Appleby returned his paper with a B. He had never receive a B before and it threw him. His friends tried to help him put the B into perspective, but for Billy an B was simply unacceptable. He really wanted to get into the science club and wanted nothing to upset his chances. At his locker, his friends tried again, suggesting a game of basketball. Billy was still bothered by the B and wanted to study instead. Trini offered to help him. Together at the Juice Bar they were hard at work. Billy found it rather ironic that the question he missed was a question about a bee. They were making progress on the studying when their communicators went off. Discreetly they left their table and teleported to the Command Center. Billy and Trini were informed that Jason, Kimberly, and Zack were bound together with a golden rope and that Rita had set the Grumble Bee upon Angel Grove. Billy did not like leaving his friends in a helpless situation but Zordon insisted that they take care of the Grumble Bee first. Billy and Trini morphed and were ready to take on the Grumble Bee. Billy got hit with the Grumble Bee's toxic venom and it was making him weak. He was unable to perform his usual powerful fighting skills. Then the Grumble Bee released it's ultra sonic waves. Billy and Trini had to retreat back to the Command Center. Kimberly, Zack, and Jason were still tied up and the Grumble Bee was still on the loose. After a brief meeting with Zordon, Billy and Trini, once again, went after the Grumble Bee. Billy and Trini were soon joined by Zack, Jason, and Kimberly, who were freed by Alpha. Together they were able to defeat the Grumble Bee. Afterwards, Billy received an A on his test and was accepted into the science club. All his hard work had paid off and he was pleased with his success.
[edit] In Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers Season 2
Billy and his friends were participating in a 4-wheeler race when Zordon summoned them. In the Command Center, Zordon let the Rangers know that a Lord Zedd had replaced Rita Repulsa. Lord Zedd d retained Goldar, Squatt, Babbo, Scorpina, but replaced Rita's putties with his own. Lord Zedd also shipped Rita back into her dumpster. Billy and the rest of the Rangers soon were battling Lord Zedd's putties and found that if they hit the Z spot, they could be destroyed. But that was not the end of the problems for Billy and his friends. Lord Zedd had taken control of their zords. Zordon had new, more powerful thunder zords for the Rangers. The new thunder zords could not be used until the old zords were released from Lord Zedd's control. Billy took a look over the stats that the computer had putted together. He thought if he could build a device that block the Lord Zedd's signal, they could regain control of their old zords. Billy and Trini left for Billy's garage to get to work on the device right away.
The signal block was ready. Billy and Trini morphed and arrived where the other Rangers were battling their own zords. Quickly Billy aimed the device at the zords, but nothing happen. Billy was frazzled and couldn't understand why the signal block had not work. According to the computer data, it should have work. Frustrated, Billy opened the device and saw that he had put one battery in backwards. Once the battery was in correctly, the signal block worked and the zords were under the Ranger's control. Billy and the rest of the Rangers were able to combine the old zords with the new zords and give Lord Zedd a taste of their strength. Billy and his friends also found out that Bulk and Skull had taken it upon themselves to discover the true identities of the Power Rangers.
Billy was at his locker at school, when Zack arrived. Zack passed Billy some dark sunglasses. Billy tried them on and told Zack that he thought they would work for the science project they were working on. Zack told Billy that the glasses also made them look cool - which made Billy chuckle. Tommy, Jason, and Kimberly arrived. Anxious to impress, Zack encouraged Billy to put on the glasses, as Zack did himself. Billy put on the glasses and couldn't believe his eyes. There were putties in the school. The putties were talking to Billy and Zack as if they were friends. Mr. Caplan started down the hallway and it looked as if the putties were going to attack him. Without a second thought, Billy and Zack tried to protect Mr. Caplan from the putties. Mr. Caplan became furious with them and gave them detention. Billy sat in class with Zack, puzzling over the fact that now the putties were in the classroom with them. To further add to the strangeness, no one was scared or screaming. Later, in detention, Billy and Zack came to the conclusion that they must be under a spell, but how. Bulk and Skull were sitting in front of Billy and Zack. Bulk and Skull spied the glasses sitting on their desks and reached over for them. Bulk and Skull put on the glasses, laughing, then turned to look at Billy and Zack. Billy watched as Bulk and Skull's laughter turned to screams and they fled the classroom. After detention, Billy and Zack walked through Angel Grove Park. They concluded that the spell they were under made their friends appear as putties. Suddenly, there was a group of putties in the park with them. Billy assured Zack that they should be their friends and they would be okay. Billy soon discovered that the putties were not their friends, but Zedd's putties. Billy knew that his friends would never attack them. The putties were soon joined by more putties. Putties were attacking putties. Billy stood with Zack along the sidelines - no longer sure of what to do. After the defeat of Zedd's putties, Billy revealed to the other Rangers that he and Zack saw them as putties. They left for the Command Center. Once there, Zordon filled the Rangers in on more distressing news. Lord Zedd had sent the Saliguana on Angel Grove. Zordon told Billy and Zack to put together a device to defeat the Saliguana while the others stayed at the Commander Center. Billy and Zack left for Billy's lab. They were busy putting together the "ice device" as Zack dubbed it, when Trini appeared. Billy watched Trini morphed and was happy to see her as the Yellow Ranger. When the team went into battle, Billy and Zack would be able to tell their fellow Rangers apart if they were morphed. Soon after, they were called into action. Billy's advice worked, and they were able to defeat Saliguana. But Billy and Zack still saw their friends as putties. Billy sat in the classroom, feeling very discouraged. He saw putties enter the classroom and give him and Zack the glasses. Alpha had worked on them and felt that he had reverse the effect. Billy tried on his glasses and was very happy to see his friends and not putties.
In addition to the numerous spells Billy was place under, had his mind scattered and lost his memory of who he was, head encased in a pumpkin, turned into chemistry liquid, a football and a pachinko ball. Hit by a freeze ray and a stillness spell which made him unable to move. Was swallowed by the Terror Toad and the Invenusable Flytrap. Sent back in time to the colonial times. Reduced to a child twice.
Billy was sitting with Trini at the Juice Bar when Kimberly came rushing over. Kimberly told them that Tommy was coming back. They quickly decided to have a party and went over to the park to tell Jason and Zack. Jason and Zack were excited over the news as well. Billy, Kimberly, and Trini watched their friends play football when a strange noise reached them. Billy and Jason left to investigate. They found a small indention in the ground and it was warm. Billy and Jason puzzled over the strangeness when their communicators went off. It was Zack asking if they could come back to the park. Billy and Jason teleported back to their friends. There they saw the Sentinel statue oozing green goo. Billy and the rest of the Rangers decided that there were too many strange things happening and that they should go to the Command Center. When Billy and his friends arrived, they were startled to find the Command Center completely dark and running on emergency power only. Alpha and Zordon were also gone. It was one more puzzling problem that left Billy and the rest of the Rangers feeling unsettled. Billy found a disc and they teleported to Billy's lab to try and find some answers. Lord Zedd launched another attack and the Rangers had to go into action. They were having a tough time and Billy decided to return to the Command Center to try and find Zordon and Alpha. Billy entered the dark Command Center and tried to located Zordon and Alpha. He saw a glowing light and cautiously moved towards it. Billy entered into a blinding whiteness and felt the floor dropped beneath him. Gently, he fell onto a lower level of the Command Center. Billy could hear Alpha and Zordon talking. Quietly, he made his way towards a vent in the ground. Not only could Billy hear Alpha and Zordon, he could see what they were doing. His eyes widen in surprise. Billy could see another Ranger laying on a table and Alpha working busily. Zordon and Alpha were creating another Ranger.
Memorized, Billy silently watched the scene below him. With a start, he realized he needed to get back to his friends and let them know what he had found out. Billy returned and paced nervously in front of his friends. Hesitant to tell his friends, he went into a lot of details, that they weren't interested in. Finally, Billy faced them and told them that Zordon and Alpha were making a new Ranger. His friends were stunned and none too happy with the news. Billy told them that Lord Zedd's monster were more powerful than Rita's and that the team needed another Ranger. They waited anxiously until Zordon finally contacted them. Billy remained his friends that Zordon knew what he was doing. They teleported to the Command Center. Zordon informed them of the new White Ranger and a blinding light descended upon them. Billy watched the Ranger being lowered - both hesitant and eager to see who Zordon had chosen. The White Ranger removed his helmet and it was Tommy. Billy was surprised and happy to see his friend back as a Ranger.
Billy was sitting at the Juice Bar with Trini, telling her about his polarizing gauge. There was an atmospheric storm heading towards Angel Grove, and Billy wanted to test out his invention. Kimberly approached their table with another girl by her side. Kimberly introduced Laura to Billy and Trini. Billy was entranced the moment he saw Laura. Kimberly filled them in on what they were doing, while Billy stared at Laura. Billy watched Laura leave with Kimberly. Trini tried to encourage Billy to talk to her. Billy decline, he felt that Laura was the outdoorsy, dynamic type, while he thought a good time was looking through a science magazine. Plus, he wanted to gather some more data before testing his invention. After going through his computer, Billy set up his invention in the park. Sudden strong winds riffle through Billy's hair as he tried to figure out what was going on. Zedd's putties appeared and starting attacking Billy. Billy was ready for them and went into action. He had defeated the putties, but what Lord Zedd wanted was Billy's invention. Lord Zedd turned the item into the Magnetbrain monster. Billy returned to the Command Center where Tommy, Trini, Jason, and Zack were waiting. Kimberly arrived and Zordon filled them in on the status of the Magnetbrain. Billy watched the viewing globe and saw Laura trying hard to protect the girls that she and Kimberly had taken for their compass test. Billy's heart lurch and he knew that Laura was in trouble. Zordon choose Tommy to go into the woods. Billy was adamant that he wanted to rescue Laura, but Zordon told him that Tommy was to go and Billy needed to help the other Rangers. After the defeat of the Magnetbrain, Billy returned to the Juice Bar. He ran into Laura there. Laura was very interested in Billy's magnetosphere monitor. Science was a hobby of Laura. Billy was impressed with Laura's knowledge and it was nice to talk to someone as interested in science as he was. Laura was as attracted to Billy as he was to her. They walked away together in high spirits.
The first annual teen peace conference was being held in Angel Grove. Billy helped host the event. At the start of the conference, Billy held a gathering with the other teen delegates. He announced that the six teen delegates would be interviewing teens from Angel Grove to select three to go with them to the peace conference in Switzerland. Billy was honored to be part of an important conference promoting peace among the nations. He was also very attracted to the girl to headed the summit, Tamara. After the conference, Billy and Tamara were in the park together. He was enchanted and wanted to know if all the girls in Tamara's country as beautiful as her. Tamara was also attracted to Billy's charm and attractive looks. Suddenly Tamara let out a gasp of fear and pulled on Billy's arm. Tamara pointed out the putties that had descended. Billy told Tamara to get back to the Youth Center and wait for him there. Billy, Tommy, Kimberly and their new friends, Adam, Aisha, and Rocky quickly went to work on the putties. As soon as they were defeated, Billy and his friends relished that the teen delegates were gone. Zordon soon had the Rangers informed that Lord Zedd had taken them and placed them into the Cave of Despair. Goldar had told the Rangers that he wanted their power coins before he would release the teens. Billy and the rest of the Rangers had made up some fake coins and passed them off as the real thing to Goldar. Goldar, believing the power coins to be real, taunted the Rangers and told them he had no intention of releasing the teens. Billy and the rest of the Rangers were prepared for Goldar's double-cross and soon had the teens out of the Cave of Despair and back at the youth center. The conclusion of the conference was at hand. Billy had enjoyed his time with the delegates and especially with Tamara. Now, he had to wait with the rest of Angel Grove to find out who would be chosen to represent Angel Grove.
Billy watched with Kimberly and Tommy as the announcement was made on TV. The three teens chosen were Trini, Zack, and Jason. Billy was excited for his friends. Billy, Kimberly, and Tommy meet up with Zack, Trini, and Jason to give them the good news. Lord Zedd also knew of the chosen three and decided to take advantage of the fact that the team would be much smaller. Zordon knew that there needed to be three new members. Zordon sent Billy and the rest of the Rangers to the deserted planet to retrieve the sword of light. The sword of light would enable Jason, Trini, and Zack to transfer their power to the new members. The Rangers landed on the planet with Lord Zedd close on their heels. Billy and his friends soon found the statue holding the sword of light. No matter what they tried, they were unable to remove it. After several frustrating attempts, an idea clicked in Billy's head. He suggested using the ring that held the map, onto the statue's finger. It worked and they returned to the Command Center with the sword of light. Billy waited nervously with his friends to see who Zordon had selected. It turned out to be Aisha, Adam, and Rocky - friends of theirs from Stone Canyon. The ceremony proceeded and the power was transfer to the three new members. Billy would miss Trini, Zack, and Jason - they had all been good friends. He would establish ties with the new members. It was the start of a new chapter for Billy and the rest of the Rangers.
Billy was tossing a frisbee with Adam and Aisha when a space craft came zooming by. Billy and his friends ducked as the space craft hover around them. The space craft landed and Billy, Aisha, and Adam raced to where it had landed. Billy was thrilled to see a space craft and they noticed a miniature figure inside. Billy theorized that the creature must be in a deep sleep. Billy also noted the diamond that powered the small space craft. Billy and his friends were soon attacked by Lord Zedd - who wanted the diamond for Serpentera. Billy, Adam, and Aisha got the small space craft and teleported to the Command Center. Zordon informed them that the creature was called a Bookala and was from the planet of the same name. Billy placed the diamond inside the space craft and Bookala became full size. Billy took an instant liking to the gentle creature from outer space. Protective of his new friend, Billy worked very hard on repairing Bookala's ship. When Billy completed the repairs, Bookala showed him a snow globe and explained that the planet Bookala was very similar to the snow globe. Billy was enchanted with the idea of a snow planet - wishing that it snowed in Angel Grove. Lord Zedd was still after the diamond, and the Rangers came up with a decoy to trick Lord Zedd. The ploy worked and Goldar had taken the fake diamond. It was time for the Rangers to say good-bye to Bookala. Billy expressed to Bookala to be an universal traveler such as Bookala. Bookala had a surprise for his new friends. Snow began to fall on Billy and his friends. Billy was thrilled with the snow and the new friend he had made.
Billy, Adam, and Aisha would work together again when they became concerned when Rocky, Tommy, and Kimberly seemed to have disappeared. Billy, Aisha, and Adam teleported to the Command Center to notify Zordon that Tommy, Kimberly, and Rocky were nowhere to be found. Billy was busy trying to track down his friends. He soon had their images in the viewing globe, but had no idea where they were at. It was discovered that Kimberly, Rocky and Tommy were transported into a book. Billy, Aisha and Adam worked together to freed their friends from the story book.
Billy was in his art class, along with Adam, Kimberly and Tommy. He was working on his project - a disc which contain a holographic image of waves crashing against rocks. Billy could feel Violet's eyes on him. He often caught her staring at him. Adam noticed the disc and asked Billy if he could take a look at it. Billy watched as it was passed around and the expressions of delight on his friends faces. Violet also took a look at it and was very impressed. Violet also revealed the project that she had been working on. It was a statue of a male that looked very much like Billy. Billy was a little uncomfortable about seeing his image, but thank Violet anyways. At the end of the class, the art teacher announced that they were to finish their projects tomorrow and present it to the class. Billy, Kimberly, Tommy, and Adam left school and headed towards the Youth Center. On the way, they stopped in the park and enjoyed the day. Adam couldn't help telling Billy that he thought Violet had a crush on him. As unsure of girls as always, Billy wasn't sure what to say to her. His friends were eager to help Billy, and suggest taking her to a movie. Billy liked the idea as well and was going to try and ask Violet to the movies the next time he saw her. Billy and his friends continue their way through the park, when they were attacked by putties. Billy was busy fighting off the putties and did not notice the vines on the ground, snaking their way towards him. Suddenly Billy was wrapped in vines he could not break and before he could alert the others, he found himself in Goldar's dark dimension. There was a blue ray coming from a device mounted on the way and it held Billy in place. Billy frantically searched for his communicator, but he could not find it. Goldar was in the dark dimension as well and he had Billy's communicator. Goldar taunted the Blue Ranger. Then to Billy's astonishment, a person appeared out of the shadows that looked exactly like him. Goldar handed the imposter Billy's communicator and morpher. Billy's duplicate gave Billy a dismissive look and left. Goldar left as well, but not before informing Billy that the Fog of Morpheus was slowly moving upward and that it would put Billy into an eternal slumber. Billy tried desperately to find a way to escape the dark dimension. As the toxic fog continue to rise, Billy could feel himself getting sleepily. Not willing to surrender to sleep so easily, Billy began to recite mathematical formulas. As he went through them the equation for disc reminded him of the disc he had in his pocket. Billy took the disc out and aim it at the blue beam and redirected the beam back at the device. Eventually the device became fired and Billy had overcome one obstacle. In the meanwhile, Zordon and Alpha had located the real Billy and had teleported him out of the dark dimension and into the park with the other Rangers. They were fighting the duplicate Billy. Billy grabbed his backpack and tossed the communicators and morphers to his friends. They all morphed into action. The only problem was that the Rangers could not tell which was the real Billy. Quickly, Kimberly spied the disc and asked the two Billys what it was. The duplicate had no clue, while Billy quickly told Kimberly it was his holographic disc. The duplicate was quickly eliminated. Billy was informed by his friends about the how condescending the duplicate has been towards them and especially towards Violet. In the art class, the following day, Billy knew that Violet deserved an apology. He approached from behind, and unable to explain what had really happen, simply apologized to Violet - telling her that he had not been himself lately. Violet accepted his apology and understood that everyone can have a bad day. Billy was touched by her compassion and with his usual habit of looking quickly away and back again, Billy asked Violet to the movies. Violet quickly say yes that she would love to go. The art teacher walked into the classroom and it was time for the students to make their presentations. Bulk and Skull had hired Violet to work on their project. It was a statue of a Power Ranger with Billy's face on it. Billy was rather taken aback when he saw himself as a Ranger. Bulk and Skull scoff at the idea of Billy being a Ranger. Violet dismissed their remarks and simply explained that she wanted to illustrated the qualities of a Ranger, which she felt Billy had those same qualities.

Billy and the rest of the Rangers were devastated by the destruction of their zords by Rito - Rita Repulsa's brother. Billy and his friends no longer had their morphin powers as well. There was a temple in the desert of despair, which housed Ninja. Ninja had created the power coins and he might be able to help the Rangers. Zordon was against the treacherous journey, but Billy and the rest of the Rangers were determined to go. With frequent glances at the map in his hand, Billy guided his friends through the desert of despair. They went through quite a few ordeals during their journey, and Billy was angry with himself when the map became engulfed in flames. Going by memory, Billy continue to lead the group and they soon found themselves at Ninja's temple. Ninja was initially reluctant to give Billy and his friends any powers, but when he heard their courage and bravery, he knew they were worthy. Billy and the rest of his friends would now be using their ninja powers and their new ninja zords.
Billy was at the Juice Bar with Adam, Rocky, Aisha, and Kimberly when they were contacted by Zordon. They teleported to the Command Center and watched the viewing globe. Tommy was in trouble. Tommy was in a car with a young blonde woman and then they vanished. Billy tried desperately to locate them. It was discovered that Tommy was in one of Lord Zedd's dimension with Goldar. Billy and his friends could only watch helplessly as Tommy fought Goldar. Billy knew he needed to get Tommy and the young girl out of there. Billy left with Adam for his house to work on a device. While on the way, they were attacked by a cat monster. They morph into action and soon had the cat on the run. Billy and Adam were soon in Billy's lab - working frantically on the device. Finally it was ready and they teleported back to the Command Center. Racing against time, Billy quickly put the device into the Command Center's computers. Within seconds, he had everything working and they were able to transport Tommy out of the dimension and back to the Command Center. Billy was unable to locate the young girl and assumed that Lord Zedd and Rita had her. The cat monster was back and Billy and the rest of the Rangers went into battle. After the battle, they morphed into the park. There was the young woman who had been with Tommy in the car. She introduced herself as Kat and gave Billy and his friends a plausible story of where she had been. Billy and his friends looked forward to getting to know Kat better when school started.
There was soon to be another change in the Ranger lineup. Kimberly had been hurt while working on her gymnastics. Kimberly was in the hospital when Kat visited her. Billy and his friends overheard Kat tell Kimberly that she had been behind the damage the Rangers had been through. Kat had been under a spell cast by Rita Repulsa. Billy and the rest of the Rangers walked in and reassurance Kat that they had no ill will against her. Later, in the Command Center, Billy and his friends watched as Kat returned Kimberly's pink power coin. Kimberly made the tough decision to continue pursuing her gymnastics, but would no longer continue as the Pink Ranger. Kimberly chose Kat to become the new Pink Ranger. Although Billy missed his close friend Kimberly, he welcome Kat to the group.
Billy was at the juice bar enjoying a break with his friends. They had spent a large amount of the day helping Kat with her Homes for Humanity project. Billy and his friends receive a urgent message from Kat. Kat had stayed behind to take pictures of the finished project and was now being attacked by Tengas. Billy and the rest of the Rangers arrived quickly in Ninja gear. The Rangers fought the Tengas, and to their amazement a part of the brick wall stepped out and began battling them. Billy and the rest of the Rangers morphed into Power Rangers. Billy and his friends fought the brick wall, but the Brick Bully was a tough opponent. Brick Bully miniaturize Aisha, Adam, Rocky, and Tommy and trapped them inside bricks. Billy and Kat returned to the Command Center before the Brick Bully could get them. Billy and Kat quickly came up with plan to use pollution to erode the bricks and release their friends. Meanwhile, Brick Bully was still terrorizing Angel Grove. Billy left to take care of Brick Bully. It was a tough battle, but Billy managed to destroy Brick Bully. He returned to the Command Center to find Kat working to free the Rangers. They kept their fingers crossed and soon their friends were released.

Another of Rita's relatives showed up. Master Vile was Rita's father and he managed to turn time back to when the Rangers were children. Billy and his friends were in a difficult situation. Unable to morph and treated as children was a challenge. Billy knew that the situation had to be changed, and was soon working on a device that would bring them to their correct age. Billy tested the device on himself first and it worked. Billy was back, but before the other Rangers could use it, they were attacked by Rito, Goldar, and the Tengas. The device was destroyed. Billy assumed the role of leader while his friends remained children. Billy and his friends soon receive help from the Alien Ranger from Aquitar. Billy was extremely busy designing various devices to keep the Alien Rangers from dehydrating, keeping his friends out of danger, and coordinating everything with Zordon. Zordon sent the Rangers on a quest for the Zeo crystal, so that the time could revert back to normal, and that the Rangers would have a new source of power. Billy wanted to go, but he was unable because he had already return to actual age. Rocky, Adam, Kat, and Tommy returned with their Zeo crystal. Aisha had decided to stay in Africa and sent Tanya in her place. Billy had been putting the Zeo crystals together and slowly put in the last piece. The ground began to shake and Billy and his friends were soon on the floor. But the Zeo crystals worked, and all the Rangers, plus Tanya were back to their correct age. There was not much time to celebrate. Unknown to the Rangers, Rito and Goldar were below the Command Center, trying to plant an explosive. Rito and Goldar were successful and the explosion ripped through the Command Center. Billy desperately flung himself onto one of the control panels to save the Command Center. Zordon teleported them out to safely.
Billy lost consciousness for a few moments. When he awoken, he found himself face down on the ground, with his friends coming toward him. He slowly got up and assured his friends he was okay. A shock awaited to him, a quick look told him the Command Center had been destroyed. Billy and his friends were in the midst of the rubble from the Command Center.

Dejectedly Billy and his friends sat, trying to take in the fact that they had lost the Command Center, possibly Zordon, Alpha and their abilities to be Power Rangers. Adam spotted something among the rubble, and soon Billy and the rest were digging away. The Zeo crystal was found. The ground were Billy and his friends were standing began to shake and they were unable to move their legs. Billy and his friends were dropped into the lower part of the Command Center. Billy and his friends made their way cautiously. Billy could hear Alpha's voice. Alpha was directing Billy and his friends to go through the vortex. When Billy and his friends did, they emerged into a gleaming, new facility. The Command Center was no more, in it's place was the Power Chamber. Alpha and Zordon had both survived the explosion. There was not much time to waste. A new evil had arrived, the Machine Empire, and the Rangers needed to be ready. As the Zeo crystal had only five pieces, only five could be Rangers. Billy took that moment to announce that he would give his crystal to Tanya. He felt that he would do a lot of good at the Power Chamber. Billy could always assume the power, if needed. His friends were stunned by his news, but they gave him their best wishes, knowing Billy was doing what was best for the Rangers. Billy watched as Zordon gave each member their new powers. Billy took a sharp breath as he watched Rocky become the new Blue Zeo Ranger. Billy had been the Blue Ranger for so long, that something tugged at him as he watched Rocky. Billy felt Alpha's reassuring hand, and the moment passed. Billy's work at the Power Chamber began almost immediately. He had lots of projects to work on, the first being the new Zeo zords.
On top of all the new devices Billy was creating, he still found time to help his friends. He kept Tommy and Adam on a strict schedule with their workouts. Billy still spent time at the Juice Bar and attending various functions held there. And he stayed busy with school. Billy was surprised to be summoned into Mr. Kaplan's office. There had been a computer error. Due to the many credits that Billy had taken and the 4.0 average he maintained on them all, Billy was able to graduate early. Billy was stunned and a bit unprepared for the news. He thought he had another year yet, and he wasn't sure what he was going to do. At the Juice Bar there was a party to celebrate Billy's graduation. Billy was amused when Skull approached him and then drag outdoors. Billy had another surprised waiting for him, Cestro. Cestro had returned to Earth looking for Billy. Cestro needed Billy's help. Billy made the decision to go with Cestro to Acquitar to help him solve their difficulties. Billy and Cestro approached Cestro's space craft. Billy was about to make one of his dreams come true - space travel. Although excited over the prospect, he was also a little apprehensive as the door to the space craft shut slowly. During his time on Acquitar, Billy was able to help the planet resolve their problems with peaceful means. Billy let his friends know he was returning and he was ready to come back. On the journey back to Earth, Billy became a target of the Machine Empire. The Machine Empire blasted his space craft with a photon blaster, that had Billy spinning out of control. Billy stayed in contact with his friends and tried desperately to think of a way out of the situation. His oxygen reserves were becoming low, and the thrusters and heaters were down. He was headed straight for the Machine sky base. Billy told his friends of the spare fuel cells and they went into action to rescue Billy. With a tractor beam, Billy was pulled back towards Earth. Billy took in the sight of Earth with a deep appreciation of being back home. Once he returned, he seemed to have come to peace with graduating earlier and spent most of his time at the Power Chamber.
The Machine Empire were making things more difficult for Billy and his friends. A mysterious Gold Ranger appeared on several occasions to help the Rangers in their battles. The Gold Ranger eventually revealed themselves. The Gold Rangers was from the planet Triforia - a planet of trifold beings. The Treys had separated and needed time to put themselves together. The Treys also needed to transfer the Gold Power to someone else. Billy was the candidate for the Gold Power. Unfortunately, Billy was unable to absorb the Gold Power and he was upset when he had to inform his friends that he could not become the Gold Ranger. Another candidate had to be selected. Tommy brought Jason into the Power Chamber. With a sense of disappointment, Billy watched as Jason became the Gold Ranger. He got over his disappointment over becoming a Ranger again, and was soon busy with various devices to help his friends. Billy had changed greatly since he had last seen Jason and their friendship changed to one of equals.
To Billy's amazement, he discovered that he had become to age rapidly. The invention he had used to turn from child to adult, had a side effect. His friends tried everything to try and reverse the effects. Cestro and Delphine showed up to help, but nothing worked. As he continued to age, Billy lay helpless on a table. Cestria showed up from the planet Aquitar. Cestria gave Billy some water from their planet's Eternal Falls. The water worked, but only for a brief moment. Billy decided to go back to Acquitar with Cestria. Jason was the only Ranger to say good-bye to Billy before he left. On the planet Aquitar, Billy was able to revert back to his age. He also decided to stay on Aquitar. Billy sent one last transmission to the Power Chamber to let his friends know that he would not be returning. As his friends wished him well, Billy was filled with happiness.
