1993 - 1998 (4 3/4" action figures)
The ranger vehicles from 1993 to 1998 were released with 4" ranger action figures. The figures were reproductions of the 4" Bandai Japan Sentai action figure molds. 4" was the scale that Bandai Japan used exclusively through the Megaranger toyline (Megaranger being the counterpart of Power Rangers in Space).
There were also 4" Alien Ranger figures that were released without vehicles and were the only release of any Alien Ranger action figures to date.
The 4" figures had minimal articulation, minimal paint and sculpt detail, and had few weapons/accessories compared to the ~5" and 8" scales. To the 4" figures' credit, they were bundled with vehicles, unlike the ~5" and 8" scale ranger figures.
The 4" figures for each Power Rangers season were bundled with the following ranger vehicles:
- Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers: Season 1: Battle Bikes
- Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers: Season 2: Thunder Bikes
- Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers: Season 3: Shark Cycles
- Mighty Morphin' Alien Rangers: N/A
- Power Rangers Zeo: Zeo Jet Cycles
- Power Rangers Turbo: Turbo Carts
- Power Rangers In Space: Galaxy Gliders and Galaxy Cycles
2010 - 2013 (4 1/2" action figures)
From 2010 to 2013, Power Ranger action figures were produced in the 4" size again (after an 11 year absence). During the 2010 to 2013 timeframe, figures were not produced in the ~5" scale anymore. Instead, the 4" size was designated the standard action figure size for the Mighty Morphin' (2010), Samurai, and Megaforce toylines. These 4" productions were designed by Bandai America unlike the 1993-1998 4" figures (which were Bandai Japan sentai figure reproductions).
